Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thats not a bad route George, nice and easy for the city folks to get back along the M1 to Brighton.

It`ll be tempting for me to just meet you at stop one, 30seconds from my house

That's a decent route George. My original route was to take Henry Lawson Drive down to Alfords Point Road, then on to Royal National Park down to Stanwell Park, but it may be a fair drive for some. Maybe the route heading towards Stanwell Park we can take the one you suggested, and for those that want a bit of a drive can take the roads through Royal National Park on the way back. Upon exiting, those that live in the East can take Princes Highway, whereas those that live in the West can take Alfords Point up. Here's the route anyway:

I'd rather drive in a pack so I'll go with majority!

I might camp at the folks place the night before and meet up with Matt first thing depending on what day we do it.

Yeah that looks like a good bit of Road Ray. Has anyone done a trial run to check it out?

If we go home that way, us westies could then get heathcote road back to Liverpool if we wanna come for the drive.

Would curtail the lunchtime beers methinks, maybe we should do the drive, then have Lunch

I've did a trial run (by myself) of the road one boring public holiday and it's fantastic. 60-80km/h speed limits. Stimulating for the driver, and not too boring for the passengers with the scenery, especially in the rainforest section and out right next to the ocean. Steve has done this with the Vortex guys too along with Pierre and a few others and they've vouched for how great of a drive it is.

So, the plan at the moment now is to head through Appin Road towards Stanwell or any other nearby destination in that area to settle down for lunch. Then on the way back, anyone who's up for it can take the route back going through Royal National Park, onto Princes Highway.
