If anyone is planning on heading up for the Saturday's racing as a competitor or spectator the organisers have just announced a charity auction for passenger rides in some very interesting cars during the lunch break.
There's a Corvette ZR1, massively tuned Nissan GTR, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 and a Pagani Zonda...!
I'd be all over the Zonda ride myself if I had the chance.

Another brilliant day of motorsport - the weather held out brilliantly with not a drop of rain and the racing was fantastic.
Ended up with 3 cars running after a mate had wheel issues with his 911 and took the Polo instead. It was seriously outgunned on the day and was one of the few cars with less than 200kW but still managed some impressive scalps including the Audi RS4 (thankfully it was a bit slow - a great scalp to claim!!), a Merc 500SL and an older 911 SC. Just couldn't pip 200kph on the timed section.
The Lambo was a heap of fun - couldn't beat the Ferrari 458 in the end (0.3s shy) but did post a faster time than the Pagani Zonda (by 4 hundredths!). I didn't get to the presentation dinner but I think we might have won the V10+ category. Took 3 people for charity rides at lunchtime and managed to see 275kph on the speedo over slightly longer than the 1000m timed section which was the highlight of my day and my personal Vmax on Australian roads.
The Golf R was the huge standout, pipping the Lambo by 9/100ths and securing a class win. The trap times were about 15-20kph slower than the Lambo but the consistentency and speed of the launches (3.9s 0-100, 12.1s 1/4 mile) meant the Lambo's higher top end couldn't claw back the difference).
I'd love to see a bang-for-your-buck analysis of the results, because at $70K for car + stage 3 I don't think there's anything in the field that comes close. The top 5 runners I would estimate have spent $70K each just on engine mods.
As always was good to catch up with familiar faces from the forum and we're looking forward to running again next year.
