Perhaps just record with your smart phone inside with a cheap phone mount?

That's the answer. Simply and effective. I've bought a new Belkin phone mount, though I have a bad feeling it may jiggle around like my $10 special... will be pee'd off if it does.

Alternatively, make a mount for the passenger head rest so you can SECURE it. Any attempt to use a tripod strapped down risks it moving when driving and being a projectile in the cabin. I have seen mounts for centre consoles, though is car dependent.

I've been looking at buying a go pro (though bought focal headphones instead ) though would run both the phone/camera and the go-pro. Or steal my old mans go-pro and run two of them
Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
      Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline
Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

In the olden days before digital cameras and video phones. The 90's.

I used to run a hi8 video camera on a tripod in my MK1 for track days. I used a ratchet strap to pull it down to the floor. The footage I produced was pretty good, although very boring according to my wife

            • I was thinking something like this Car Dashboard Suction Mount Tripod Holder for Camera | eBay but better quality. Camera house had the professional (like what they use on top gear, 5th gear etc) dual, tri and quad suction cup mounts with a screw tripod camera mount but it was something like $140 for the triple cup one. I don't really want to spend more than $80. I was going to mount my new little toy Nikon J1 on it.

              • Last time I used a cheap windscreen mount and mounted it on my sunroof. Worked really well, high quality image with little vibration.

                  • Egg, Nat, Sean, I've spoken to the Renault guys and they'd be happy to offer membership to ze Germans. One does not need to drive or own a Renault to be part of the club. Please PM me with your email address and I'll forward the details. That goes for anyone else interested in joining the RCCQ.

                    • Hi lads, I had a few scary slides last friday at the BMW club track day. I still managed to get a 1:08 on the wet with my stock 210 bhp FWD mini but definitely not worth the risk, so lets hope is NOT raining ( eventhough this guy 'machine' starts bitching about it )

I'll see you all on sunday!!

BOM says shower or two, however it changes on an almost daily basis.
Otherwebsites are saying it will be fine.

                          Fingers crossed anyway.
