Sorry dude actually thought it was the end as a few other GTI's came in. I slipped back out for one more lap though. Sorry about that.... Didn't you slip back out too?

I love the Harry's lap interface over the video, was that easy to do?

It's not your fault. It was, indeed, the end, but not everyone saw the pace car. That's why the people behind us kept going, which is when I slipped back out. But by then the other cars were already in front of me. I only realised after watching the video that if I hadn't followed you in, I would have had a clean lap! Next time, I'm gonna pretend I didn't know and wait until there's a physical barrier on the track (which is what happened).

Harry's is super easy to use. Everything is automatic, including video. You just export each lap with overlay from iPhone to iMovie and piece it together as one complete video. Seamless. The only annoying thing is the audio gap at every start/finish line. Apparently that can't be circumvented.

Yeah lets blame Swalee, who needed a medical car when he finished

You didn't happen to get any footage of that Gateway run in the morning, I'd like to see what the speedo was reading at about that Nudgee area That was fun!!!

LOL. I noticed that area going back the other way. Definitely speed camera in that direction. Not sure about when we were travelling...oh well, time will tell...let's see who gets a present in the mail first.

              • Here is the first half of the onboard video from my DS3 D'Slow'. The first few laps are quite slow but get better after about 7-8 minutes as I was still trying to find the right lines on the track (haven't been to Lakeside since August, so a bit rusty). The thumping noise from entering the track to exiting the first corner is my ESP flipping out as per usual. Automatically goes back on any speed over 50km/h or after 10 minutes, whichever comes first.
Turns out Citroen decided only drivers of the 'racing' and 'dsport' can have the option of fully turning off the TCS and ESP.

Whatever Al....., I was confused as well when he went off, seemingly he was taking one of the bikers for a joy ride, and didnt realize that half the track came off when he turned in, bit of a pied Piper moment.

Anyway, I was slowed down by some back markers, which is cool as I would have terminated my gearbox otherwise.

Hopefully Mike will do the clutch install, when I come back from the states.

                    • Harry's does give awesome results. Would love to compare them (gtech, harry's and QR timer) to gauge the consistency. Harry's was at the top of my list if going the iphone route. From what I've researched, g-forces should be quite accurate from iphone, but the 1hz GPS can make them quite inconsistent, ultimately requiring an external 5 or 10hz GPS due to the extrapolation required at 1hz. At 160km/h, that's 44.4m per second, so a reasonable way down the road should it miss the marker.

Best lap of 74.38s, though theoretical best lap of 71.48s across the 6 sectors. Didn't get one clean lap.

These are the sectors I broke it down to:

Top speed of 174km/h, max braking g-force of -0.94, max corning g's of 0.6, though normal cornering g's are usually mid 0.4 to mid 0.55s.

                          I haven't dyno'd the car, but I doubt it'd spin 130kwat.

You would still have a good power to weight ratio though which is a big help.

Mine started to protest from about 15 minutes on.
I now have a front left that is down to the wear markers after 22,000k.

Having said that i have given my KU31's a beating with 8 happy laps haha.

that's dissapointing, I was expecting more from ku31's as I believe ku36's are same if not cheaper on price and are grippier and supposedly last ~20,000kms
