Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've been involved with the DoVW and it isn't easy/cheap to put together. Public liability will probably rule it out straight away.

The club doesn't specifically target a group of cars for the show, just that traditionally the watercooled numbers have just not been there compared to aircooled.

It would be easier to just drum up support here to get the watercooled numbers up and then let the club deal with the ins and outs of organising the show.

Yeah I guessed that aha just thought it would be an awesome concept, but rallying up support seems to be the best option.

Congrats Josh, I saw the pics on your T9T facebook page Who own that silver A3 - one of your mates I'm guessing, or was it someone from OzAudi?

Yeah the locked gate policy is to do with public liability insurance - unless someone wants to volunteer to be a traffic marshall for the day I don't think the Club will be able to change it.

The VW Club is mostly aircoolers anyway but it looks like the watercooled numbers were even lower this year Looks like they culled the categories as well. They are trying to increase/encourage watercooled members but with the existance of this forum & the other VWGolf forum, not much seems to change unfort.

rgvlee is right. I've helped coordinate both forums attending DOVW before with the VW Club, but I was away this year & it doesn't look like much happened apart from a small premeet before.

veedubMK3 - I organised the Araluen cruise/show event in May. It was a good day but it's time consuming & expensive to do. I'd like to say we'll do it again next year but it all depends how many people want to participate. Same with the recent Dyno Day.

Yeah of course mate, I wasn't doubting the challenge it is to organize such an event, I was just toying with the idea, Maybe one day

Nah you're ok mate I wasn't having a go. I also find it frustrating when there is always the "them v. us" between the VWWatercooled & VWGolf forums... different groups of people with a common interest in Dubs but who never seem to be able to coordinate a joint event etc. Trust me, I've tried!
