      • Viezu could not put a tune onto my car ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Apparantly my engine does not exist on the database. Even though the Mini Cooper and the Peugeot 207 are on the database that have the same engine as mine, the coding is different ((((((((( Typical Citroen always trying to be different from everyone else.

Hopefully I can save a little bit more and buy a Supersprint exhaust system instead I was really looking forward to see how the tune would effect my driving on the happy laps.

They are looking after my exhaust and tune. Seems very professional, had no problem with them with my old cars too.

I know Ben used Bayside Performance Services for his Golf R and was very happy with their work, custom tune so no specific brands, just your car and what you want out of it.

Antti Roll bar and torsion bars are stock at 19mm. I'll keep it that way for a little while but I would like to up the ARB to 21mm soon. Got some C5 Aluminium rims too. They weigh 5kg each.

Hey mate sorry to hear about the tune I can vouch for both CES for the exhaust as well as Clay's suggestion for BPS for a custom tune. If I were in you shoes I would be going for the custom tune all day every day over an exhaust. For the cost of the exhaust (CES are total quality and performance but not cheap) you could get a custom tune with 3 maybe 4 times the power increase. And the funny thing is James from BPS would probably charge less than Viezu for an off the shelf tune.

Jump on Golf.net to see the brilliant results BPS are achieving over a very wide selection of vehicles.

Yes, Greg who was trying find a tune for me was very helpful and full of apologies when he found out my engine wasn't on the database. He recommended extractors and/or try BPS for a custom dyno tune.

The only thing is from what I have seen BPS is around the $1000 mark and that is a bit pricey for me. Really $700 (maybe $750) would be the absolute limit for a tune seeing my car is not turbocharged so results wouldn't be fantastic.

I was looking at the Supersprint exhuast from the start when I first bought the car but now I wondering about getting the rally straight pipe from Citroen Racing boutique.

Another must for me is to get new spark plugs again from NGK (iridium) this time.

Thanks for all the tips guys

                      CES can do remap too

they are doing both to my 500

manifold/dump/de cat 2.5in straight to the quad muffler then remap

So how 'legal' is having a de-cat? I've been wanting to do that to give my car less restriction in the exhaust, however I worry about legality issues etc. Also, would there be a large difference in sound once it is removed?

What I worry about most if I do that is when I take my car in for a service at the dealership, would/could they say anything about me not having a cat-converter? In the most recent service, nothing was said about my aftermarket air-filter, spark-plugs and deleted resonator.

From what I have seen with Diesel DS3s on the DS3 forum (110hp) they have generally gained between 5-10hp ATW when they take out the cat-converter.

Sorry about all of the questions :/ I'm just a n00b at car parts.

                        • Removing the Cat would be illegal and can incur huge fines from the EPA/Environment reglator.

On a non turbo car you aren't going to see as much gain from removing it from memory as you would with say weight reduction or extractors.

highly illegal. It still going to look like there is a cat on my car, but there is actually nothing inside the cat. But yeh, for a boosted car, running without a cat with giving you extra 5kw at wheels.

Talk to CES about the tune, see what they say

                            • Alright cheers, I think I'll steer clear of that for me then-at least until I get a turbocharged car

Extractors seem to be the way to go at the moment.

Edit: I've given BPS and CES a call and BPS said around $900 would be the absolute cheapest they could do and CES was around $1000 for getting a tune done. So too pricey for me

Thanks for all the advice again

I went with BPS for my muffler delete and couldn't be happier with their work.
The delete pipe started to make a slight rattle so i took it bakc and they fixed it free of charge and it has been right as rain ever since.

You could also look at bigger cams as i know the R32 boys go with those to get more power.
