Keep it looking like a hairdresser's car (that's my strategy).

That way you don't get any attention from the po-po, and you won't have every dazza, bazza and azza trying to drag you off the lights in their Falcodore/Skyline etc. Although I do still get a fair few people in those sort of cars trying their luck (generally being slaughtered by a hairdresser's car is enough to induce embarrassment into those types of people....lol)
