Queensland Raceway Happy Laps (v.5) 27th May 2012 (breakfast)
Thanks for organising Aaron.
Was a really chilled out atmosphere and didn't see any silly antics which was good (apart from a 205 owner who apparently didn't learn )
Putting my name down for next time.
Al..
Already put them on the list as first reserve for Lakeside in June.
Thanks, I'm sure I can get the car sorted by then. Maybe the last in the golf, looking to sell to get a family car, then a new daddy car early next year.

Thanks again Aaron. Great morning and had a lot of fun. Everybody behaved themselves very well. Definitely need new tyres now, my Conti sports are chewed!

By the way, can't wait too see some video and photographs!
Loved this event! I even managed to overtake 3 cars!!!!!! :O
My video worked and I have footage of the 306GTi almost spinning out on the left-turns. Sorting out the video as I type this.
Fantastic atmosphere and great to meet some people in person and see some great cars.
Again, big thanks to Aaron for organising it, happy laps are sooo much fun.
I did see quite a few people understeering, including myself on one corner when my ESP/TCS decided to turn itself on again...

Thanks guys and girls - everyone seemed to have fun & the atmosphere seemed a little more laid back than LP for some reason. Thanks for making it a great outing!
I endorse syhm's comment; the standard brakes don't cut it on that track - nothing a couple of cool down laps won't fix though - QR might be more fun with bigger brakes but then Sam made the comment that heat soak from his big muther brakes was fading the coil-overs - domino effect. My freshly installed PSS10's made a big difference, but I'm sure turn 4 was faster prior to the resurface (well Don the QR official agreed with me anyway) - seems like a few people overcooked it into turn 4 the first time round like me! Lol - never had the Skoda do a combo understeer/liftoff oversteer on me before! Gathered it up and treated T4 with more caution after that!
I didn't see Henry (pug) go lawn mowing, but apparently he must have seen three areas that needed trimming! The Honda had a moment in turn 3 behind me at one stage - I heard the tyres howling before I looked in the mirror to see him struggling with the understeer in the marbles, had a bit of a chuckle
How was the dirt on the track? Could have done with a bit of a clean for us!!
Another awesome event and outing. Was very amusing to see people under steering off in turn 4, certainly a slippery little corner. I also think the track has less grip than prior, but was also a lot more gentle on my tyres. Some interesting driving lines too, lol.
I'd be very surprised if anyone got suspension failure from heat build up out there, most likely be fried tyres which increases under steer and can give the impression of the car pivoting.

Good fun indeed. Chewed my front tyres up a bit as I need an alignment but couldn't afford one prior to this event but ohwell. Also noticed how the cheap tyres on the back get very slippery pretty quick (while the toyo t1rs on the front were very nice) and had the back swing out a couple times without even pushing it all that hard haha. The vr6 brakes with greenstuff pads lasted the whole time without fading much if at all, but then again I had the least powerful car out there which really showed on this course thanks to all the straights.

Thanks Aaron for organizing the event x2 - I was watching this video last night and thought I might see if I can do what this guy was doing in my 306 PEUGEOT 306 - YouTube - I don't think I have the skill of him though! Cheers Clay for the video - some great incar footage!!!
