I believe so yes.Originally posted by audi-tone View PostPm sent. Also silly question but it's a clockwise circuit yeh?
The map on the front page has the arrow next to the start line pointing in the clockwise direction.
Also, the first 2 corners are meant to be pretty wide so it would make sense to be clockwise.

Yeah it definitely is clockwise
I have been and watched the porche club out there.
As Clay said " Champions Way - Willowbank" same street as the drag strip.
I may even wash my car this time, might help power to weight ratio.... LolLast edited by Scuby_snax84; 23-05-2012, 09:08 PM.

Great to hear. Driveshaft shouldn't rub much at all then. Probably been answered but is there an actual speed cap or is it within reason (what would the avg speed be on the back straight? (I know it will depend on car - I have mk4 gti)Platinum Grey mkV Jetta turbo, Viezu motorsport map, GT-CX 18", lowering to come

There is usually access all the way around the track; there is a track that is sealed part of the way which commences from the pit area near turn 6, as well as a dirt track that commences just outside the second car park around turn 1. These access tracks are usually blocked off for big meets, but for Sunday I would imagine that they would be open.Originally posted by THE_EGG View PostI am now aware of some good spots to get photos from the outside of the track (taken from my passenger who will be spectating). But what I am wanting to know is, will there be road access around the OUTSIDE of the track to get around to different corners to get good shots.
My Dad will be bringing his car to get around (and to show off as well haha) so transport won't be an issue. Also dad's car is a 4X4 so if it involves getting his car dirty he won't mind.Redline3345 MY11 Octavia vRS Wagon TSI DSG | Brilliant Silver | Milltek cat back exhaust | Bilstein PSS10 | TSR Panorama | Remsa | Leather | Sunroof | Towbar | Front Sensors | Boot Protector | Xenons | Corner Fogs | Alarm | Extended Warranty | Superskoda Bits & Bling

The link for Queensland Raceway QLD Raceways is in the first post in this thread, as well as brief info to be aware of.Originally posted by simple_man View PostGuys, want to confirm adress: Lakeside Park Lakeside Road, Kurwongbah QLD 4503 ?
Anyone have GPS coordinates of the meeting spot? Where exactly do we meet up?
27°41′25″S 152°39′9″E / 27.69028°S 152.6525°E are the approximate co-ordinates - no responsibility taken if you wind up elsewhere though!
On entering the complex, you will see a tall structure which is the control tower. That will be the initial meeting place.

The only unpaved roads you would encounter is if you accessed the rear of the track through the township of Rosewood. Otherwise, it is all paved if accessing through the main entrance. From Brisbane, take the Cunningham Highway (Warwick) exit at Dinmore (beware, it has changed with the "new" Ipswich motorway and is now on the right, not left) and follow all the way to Willowbank, turn right at Champion's way and follow the (paved!) road past the drag strip entrance, kart track, up to the end where you will find Qld Raceway.Originally posted by nat225 View Postmy TomTom says.. There will be a driver briefing prior to being let loose on the track where you will be given all the info you need by the Track Marshall, as well as the opportunity to ask any questions. Each time the forum has driven at Lakeside, there is a speed limit given for the twisty parts of the circuit, and if the track is damp, a limit given for the straight.Originally posted by audi-tone View PostGreat to hear. This is shaping up to be a really great event; we have 39 confirmations so far including passengers, with 6 Drivers yet to confirm. There are 5 non VAG vehicles entered: Citroen DS3; Peugeot; Subaru STi; Fiat 500 Arbath and Honda Civic Type R, as well as VAG variants Audi and Skoda, which should make for an interesting mix.
Hope that the weather is kind on the day! Could everyone check the list in first post, and if you know any of the people who have not confirmed, please let them know to get in touch!
Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.Last edited by redline3345; 23-05-2012, 10:02 PM.Redline3345 MY11 Octavia vRS Wagon TSI DSG | Brilliant Silver | Milltek cat back exhaust | Bilstein PSS10 | TSR Panorama | Remsa | Leather | Sunroof | Towbar | Front Sensors | Boot Protector | Xenons | Corner Fogs | Alarm | Extended Warranty | Superskoda Bits & Bling

Lol, ambitious target. As quick as your beast is, it won't reach that. Don't forget the hairpin at the end too, might need to slow down a little for thatOriginally posted by sam_online View PostIs time to see if Apr actually get rid of the 255 limiter on my GTI

I think sam was being sarcastic as there is no way we would get close to 255.Originally posted by 99_FGT View PostRemember guys, this is happy laps, not sprints.

I topped mine out at 170 at the end of the straight at lakeside but that would be about the top speed i would be comfortable doing and haven't put it over that.
Any more and people should be looking into a sprint session or general practice events rather than happy laps.
