In saying that, QR is a very safe circuit with plenty of run off and little to no undulations, so it's other drivers you need to be mindful of.
2 Drivers have been warned of their conduct from the last event so hopefully we won't have any issues this time or in the future.

    • Do we have any speed limit this time? Since QR is a wider and safer track, I'm thinking of at least a higher limit, if not no
The overtake rules still apply I assume?

Probably the same rules as Lakeside i would guess since it's not a dedicated motorsport event.

i thought it was three? lol haahaha oh man i feel im discriminated against by lakeside safety dudes as im in a red car and in a different car to all the others....i reckon when they are watching us all they see is red. the safety guy probs has something against me as I said to him in the first event that the reason why the track seemed slippery when he took a drive around it is because he was in a crewman.lol it was funny at the time but i rekon he took offense cause I paying out his treasured holden.

          I'm with RACQ.
suncorp and shannons will be the closest you will come to have track insurance which makes sense as suncorp owns shannons, I was told by suncorp that if it wasn't deemed my fault and I have a cams lic and regular servicing of my car then they may cover me but only at sanctioned events. I have sister in law who is an accessor for suncorp and she said she has seen track cars come through who crashed at mount cotton and holden test track and it was covered. but who knows maybe they are "track raciest" or trackiest. lol

I dont think any of us need to feel unsafe at these events we are all pritty awesome drivers, the skills ive seen so far are pritty sweeettt. and also with clay and redline running the shows we sudnt have any issues....although now that clay has a matte black vw badge we may struggle to see his car on the track which means we may not see it coming and crash.loloolololol jokes man its awesome. we need to hang out sometime!

I was in a red one aswell, pegging 155 - 160 at the dogleg. I saw the guy watching at the end of the straight aswell. I just made sure I was on my own, doing everything I was told to do. No problems here.

                  • Out of curiousity, I know these events put strain on my car so I was wondering how often I should get my car serviced. At the moment I am getting it serviced every 6 months. Thanks.

Cheers, well that's fine then. I get about 5000-7000kms done for every 6 months.

                        • I should really start paying more attention to the forum. Chuck me down as a reserve, otherwise i'm keen for round 6 happy laps!

I am not going to make it. The roster at work isn't looking good. Dmac, you might have a better chance, there's always a few bang out late on.

I wouldn't worry about extra servicing, for driving a bit quick for 50ks. I certainly don't in my S3 even with nearly 250000ks up. Check the levels and go.

I am in the process or organising Round 6 (June) now!
No extra servicing required as Gavin said, it's only 50km and most of it is actually around regular road speeds (back end of lakeside etc)

Dmac/Gavin anyone on the reserve list for this one automatically gets a spot on the main list in the next one.
