Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

i am planning to sell the Golf for an 86 later and i would still love to join you guys on these sessions. i must say i have been to happy laps organised by a few forums and this forum runs the best organised sessions.
I do agree, however we don't know the attitude and behaviour of the drivers from outside the forum.

I have a general rule of only euro cars because you normally have people who are more mature and generally care a bit more about their cars than you do in the jap scene.
NB, this is just my generalised perspective having been around the jap scene for a while and coming to the Euro scene.

i agree with your observation. i guess it is absolutely essential that the member who invites non euro car owning friends (or any drivers for that matter) to explain our rules and expectation for the drivers' behaviour on the track.

Totally agree, especially if it is the first time the wrx driver has been on a track. Personally I don't have a problem with
them coming seeing that (at least from my perspective) it should still be pretty quick through the corners. There is nothing worse than someone who is slow through the corners and extremely fast on the straights. But yes as long as they abide by the rules then i see no problem myself.

i explained to my mate about the rules and the issues we had with that Ute. he's more than happy to comply

also, he's been to QR before on his bike and Mt Cotton hill climb
            on his Rex.

it is an opportunity for him to step into the Euro world too

My car should have new brakes by then, so I'm keen to give this a try. It will actually be my first time on a track though.

No worries mate, we have new lappers every time.
Will be good to see how it goes with less restrictions than urban roads.

I've updated the list and added you; what will you be driving?

I have added Brendan (nat225's mate) to the list, as it looks as though there's no outstanding objections to him joining us, with the obvious caveat: as long as he drives appropriately.

Regarding the happy laps, is it ok if I use my DS3?

                                Cheers.
