11/6- Queens Birthday VW Track Day @ Winton

Am interested in coming along to this as a spectator. what time does the "racing" commence???
What facilities do they have or is it better to bring all my own food/drink etc?

Are you any good with a camera lol

Cant really remember last year, i think there is a cafe there somewhere. racing is probably around 10am - 4pm

Track time starts 9am and stops about 4:30pm
There is the cafe at the track but Benella is only about 10 minutes away with loads of eateries.

If I come to this I will be bringing my camera for a few happy snaps.
good that racing will start around 10... will mean a little sleep in before driving up.

Will be great to have you along blutopless2- its always great to have spectators who can take some pics.

Need to get the car serviced and new pads before I go.

Ive e-mailed Craig Hughes the editor of the VWmagazine in Australia. He is pretty happy for us to send some photos and a little write up of our Winton track day.
Lets get heaps of Vw watercooled cars involved for this epic day.
We also need some really good high resolution photos that he can use for the magazine.
What do you guys reckon?

Just had it pointed out to me that the 3rd round of the Vic Supersprints is on the day before and I'm running 3rd in class (by virtue of having run in both rounds so far)

Not sure if I can manage 2 track days in a row

Greg has done it in a totally stock TDI (I think it was last year) or maybe it just had some springs

No, it had the B12 kit in it already but I was running the stock tyres.

Don't let stock suspension be an issue, though - you can still have great fun in a roly, poly car. I've done that in the past with another car.

One thing with stock suspension is that in this day and age they are invariablyset to understeer under almost any condition - this let's you go massively deep under brakes without having to worry about spinning . You do still have to consider what you might plough headlong into, though

Yeah mate I am 99% certain to go! Might as well do something for the year, before you know it the year is gone and we have done no racing.
Hopefully the numbers can pick up. Where are all the guys from last year???????????

Yes you can. Just imagine your doing the Le Mans24 hour race. Or even better a 24hour Nurburgring race.
