Bi Monthly Cruise + BBQ

I agree with polo_spec_d & balkanac. Let's just pick a date and stick with it - you'll never get everyone to come along and the Perth turnout to cruises is always pretty low. Kinda why I gave up trying to organise things for a while last year, so props to Luke on getting things going again For what it's worth, we could still run 11th if people are keen - we only had 1 objection...

God dam party pooper! surely you can afford a tivo or a hdd or anything to record it and watch it later that arvo? Possible I'll see.

Could just make a thread where you can vote on several different dates and then go with the one that gets the most?

Left plenty of time for people to let me know whats the best date but seems best to just choose and see who can't make it.

possible Nic, and you can never find a date suit suit everyone, but surely long weekends and F1 weekends are dates to be avoided.

As a car forum, I woulda thought a lot here would be watching the F1

Could turn it back into a meet at your place to watch the F1? Fair enough about the long weekends though.

I think Luke is doing a excellent job in trying to get this event up and running and everyone should hand it to him for putting the effort in as organising these things is not easy.

This event is going to be held often so there will be plenty of chances for people to show up and show off their pride and joy but we just need to get this first one happening and then from there we will learn if times/dates or places need to be changed.

The Perth chapter has never really had an event like this so to get one going will be a big plus and will benefit everyone so I think we should just stick with the dates that Luke picks out and just go with it because in the end this is going to lead to greater things for the Perth chapter of VWW.

Mmm yeah certainly an option that im more leaning towards (sorry shakespeare ) We could try the 24th and see whose got something planned for then :S

Sorry the first part was a bit rushed planned as i was doing it in the week off i had between work. Just need to get it going and going regularly. Besides everyone should put VWWC as priority numero uno!

Yep just pick a date & give people a few week's notice, best you can hope for. Look at the last cruise for the coast run - decent turnout on short-ish notice.

Ok, Lets settle this. Final date is the 25th of March due to 11th is probably too close in terms of letting people know and i don't think my cars going to be ready ha ha

Enjoy the cruise guys - we should do this more often, so I like the bi monthly idea that way those that can't make one can make it to another!

Well technically its not bi monthly as that means twice a month (yes i screwed it up) but its every two months or so. So i should probably start organizing the next one now just to save screwing the date around so often. Or i just do it the last Sunday of every second/third month.

We could always do that for the next one, doesn't have to be a bbq, the main part is the consistent cruise. I don't mind organizing it either if you want.

So back to the cruise.

Whats happening so far.
Who: You
What: Meet then cruise then bbq then dunno.
When: Initial meet at 8:00 on the 3 or 4th of March (let us know)
Where: Initial meet at DNA tower kings park then cruise to mundairing or canning bbq areas

Plan:
Meet up at the DNA tower at 8:00ish in the morning

Leave the DNA at a planned 9:30-10ish (usually takes that long for everyone to meet up) to a meet up point to be able to regroup specially after a mirage of traffic lights, best place i can think of is Jorgensen park which is right at the start of mundaring weir road. If anyone wants a another meetup point feel free to suggest. Then a good fang to mundaring weir and the bbq.

(note the map suggests great eastern bypass but its easier to take kalamunda road)

haha it can mean either! go ambiguous modern English I like the idea of a regular 'booking' eg last Sunday of every 2nd month. Twice a month will never happen here!!
