I know this is a little off topic but just out of curiousity, can P-platers drive on track at all? Please note I'm not wanting to sign up as I am unsure about insurance and P-plate stuff.
Also if I were going to sign up for it, would I be able to use my Citroen?sigpic TRADED THE BEE'12 Sport Yellow/Black Citroen DS3 DSport THP155 6-spd manual w/ tech pack.

We have 2 peugeots and normally one or two renaults that come along so a citroen would be okay too in my books.

It'd be worth getting along for a look at what it's about if you've never been around a track. Whether it's this style of event or sprints. Once you know what to expect it takes some of the anxiety and unknown out of it. Lakeside is great for this style of event if you've never tracked before as it's not "competitive" given that theres no timing, otherwise QR sprints is great for timed laps and a good assortment of cars with plenty room for error.Originally posted by THE_EGG View PostAwesome. I shall think about joining up to the next one then.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline
Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

The main point of this style event is to get out nad have a go without having to worry about lap times or speed cameras.
Since you don't know how quick each lap is it really comes down to learning how the car handles and how to take corners rather than trying to shave off tenth's of a second and pushing the car too hard.

Exactly like the others said. I'm a pplater and probably have had the slowest car there the last two times, and had never touched a track before the first one. Is a great way to learn what your car can do, and is incredibly fun! Would definitely recommend coming along to one.
Anyway unfortunately it looks like I'm out for this one, so give my spot to a reserve (if there are any left, looks like a fair few have dropped out). If by some miracle my parts show up and I get it fixed ill come along and if theres a spare spot get on the track, but if its full ill just watch. Have done the last two anyway so im happy to give a turn to someone new anyway.
In for the next one though!

Due to one extra person pulling out there is a free spot on the list.Originally posted by THE_EGG View PostWould i be able to sign on as a reserve? Note, i would be using a citroen ds3 if i go. Also, if all the spots are taken could i come and watch?
I'll add you to the main list.
$25 on the morning paid to QR.
See you out there.

Oh and I was wondering what the situation is if I am under 18 as I turn 18 in August (I probably should've mentioned I was on red p-plate). Do I need to bring a family member with me if I am under 18?Originally posted by team_v View PostDue to one extra person pulling out there is a free spot on the list.

Also I just have to check with insurance company tomorrow about whether or not I am covered for this event as I am guessing I'm not. Are you guys covered for this type of event? Although I am assuming as long as I don't go over the top with driving (which I'm not going to do as this is my first trackday), I should be fine.
As you can probably tell I'm quite nervous/anxious about this but I'm really wanting to go.
Thanks for adding me to the list, much appreciated.

Insurance probably won't cover it and no one really is. This is NOT a track day. It is called happy laps as it is a chance to take your everyday car on the track to experience an introduction to track days. Generally these days are run at safe 'road' speeds and the rules are handed out prior to commencement. Rules generally include a statement telling competitors that any incidents where someone is overtaking are the fat of the person doing the overtaking.

no insurance cover, unless it is a defensive driver training.
as with driving on public roads, common sense prevails. going all out should be reserved for proper track days.
if you think you are holding up people behind you on the corners, you should let them pass u on the straight instead of doing drag race on the straight to prove somethingMitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD
