Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You drove fine hey. Moved over when it was safe, kept your line through the corners when it wasn't. No one would ask any more. Good to hear you had fun.

                • Clay, thanks so much for organising!!! Obviously you had a good time too as v4 didn't take long!

                  Some things that impressed me:
                  1) The pace of the little silver Polo gti!! That thing is an absolute sleeper!!
                  2) How quick the dark 35th Anniversary GTI was that I think I was holding up for most of the session! (what have you done to that thing?)
                  3) How many laps they left us out there for
                  4) How well behaved everyone was

Some things that didn't impress me:
                  1) Bridgestone REO50As. I need semi-slicks!
                  2) The softness of the front end. I can see some upgrades coming on...

See you all next time with any luck.

btw I went straight up to the Gatton Sprints after the Lakseide session and had a great weekend. There was an old golf convertible with a V8 in it that someone had entered into the burnout comp. Looked absolutely ridiculous but my god it sounded good

It was mine in the couple I watched. I am having to watch it on my phone mind you cause our work internet nazi doesn't like "media bandwidth streaming". You may well be in another vid i haven't been able to see yet (the layout of the page on the phone is a bit weird).

Now that i look at it full screen it would be your R as my car has the grey body mouldings that aren't visible in the video.
I mistook it because i made hte same move on the Octavia at the same place.

damn it, there were 2 silver polo's, which one was it?? haha.

Sharkie's hauls on the straights, will need to get some suspension under it to battle next time hey.

The one I was behind the whole way down the straight was being driven by a Sth African gentleman. Not sure whether that's you or Sharkie?

The Octavia had some genuine grunt too. For my sanity please tell me it had been fettled with?? Bloody good motors aren't they.

From memory the Octavia has stage 1, happy to be corrected.
