  • thanks to everyone for coming. Without the willing participation of you guys things like this would not happen.

big shout to all the interstate boys and girls for making the trek for a new show, thanks for the laughs and the company, even if I wasn't in the biggest partying mood this weekend.

Im glad everyone enjoyed the show. With the support we had today, things can only get bigger and better. More and more people are producing some tasty cars. I hope my MC'ing wasn't too terrible!

    See you all next year!

    • Great job by the group organising the event and well rewarded by the terrific turnout (despite slack-ar$es like me who couldn't put in the effort to clean our cars and enter). It was too bad that the heat prevented me from meeting more of the attendees/entrants.

Really great to see Troy (vwthunder) finally get some recognition for the effort he puts into the presentation of his pog - we sometimes get blasé about his car because we see it quite often and it is ALWAYS immaculate (image of him polishing his wheels at a stop point on a cruise last year). And extra cred as the car gets tracked so it's not just a show pony.

      • Thanks to Stu for organising such a great event. I wasn't expecting such numbers, next time I'll bring my tent.

Here a teaser of my shots, I'll post the rest of them up on my blog decroft.com in a day or so. Enjoy.

                    • I haven't been on the VAG seen for a few years and it was good to see some of the old crew (Tim) and how well organised and the diversity in cars at the event.

Tim mentioned it wuld be could to get all car clubs (BMW, Mercedes Benz Alfa etc...) together to do something similar for the younger crew MB only do the RACV Show @ Flemingtion end of April

                      Well done to all involved

                      • Would be interesting whether we could organise an East Coast train cruise for BMW, Mercedes, Mini, Renault, Citroen, Volkswagen, Skoda owners starting from either North QLD or Tassie and link up with members in their respective states.

Ridiculous or interesting? hmmmm *rubs chin*

I like the categories - makes a nice change from the old 'cleanest car' prize of many shows - but what does the Padded Cell category constitute? And what makes a car worthy of the 'Car of the Show' prize?

And more importantly, what were the prizes/trophies? They look different as well!

                              • Padded cell award is simply the most outrageous car at the show. Car of show obviously goes the car with the most work put into it. That's why Troy won!

People choice awards were rocker covers. Padded cell was a miniature padded cell. Best fitment was a slamboard/stanceboard and car of show got a Volkswagen badge necklace.

                                Pretty damn awesome prizes IMO.
