  • This totally fuçked up my aim to get 1100km from a tank.

It was all looking good until the section from the Reefton through to the other side of Lake Mountain where my fuel consumption sky rocketed

In the end, I chickened out after a few km running with 0km range on the trip computer and had to settle for 1099km

          • im down.

depending on the temps / rain (forecasted), i'll be taking it easy - dont like extended boosting on super hot days.

and MattyVW, it's a pretty relaxed scene, just like with the get togethers at the dub addiction factory, and the big meets like South East Dub Fest and Dubstitute etc... just rock up, say hi, and you're in.

it's all good people - none of the forum arsehats seem to ever, ever come to any get togethers or greets, which is convenient

by the way todd i've taken the liberty of extending this invitation to some guys on another forum i've cruised with before - they're all sensible folks who are every bit as enthusiastic about driving enjoyment as vwwa members.

last cruise i went on with them was SUPER fun, they're all top blokes, VERY open minded (no badge snobs whatsoever), and genuinely interested in not only their marques but other makes and models as well - that cruise saw a couple of DAMN nice R33 skyline gtr's, E46 bmw m3, z4, lancer evo 7-9's, renaulsport clio etc.

            hope you dont mind?

                • hey guys, late reply....

thanks for the cruise - small numbers due to the rain, but good to see a decent turnout nonetheless.

fab, those brakes (and the car in general) phwoar! damn nice. tristan, those OZ superturismo's look fantastic, but good luck with the "wheels that will fit over my brakes" quest. adz, you gotta let us know how the test drive of that other hot hatch goes!

greg, always a pleasure, and todd, your shagn wagon is looking just.... spot on. those wheels are HOT, and to be honest, i reckon they're the PERFECT size.

                  till next month, folks!

it was great to drive with a passenger (never done it), and if anyone was wondering, no, he wasnt a bad passenger, he just had FCKING bad food poisoning - it must have been that reheated muffin in warburton - once we got to healesville and he barfed like an international rock star, all was good, so perhaps no baked goods from that place before a cruise, as a caution? lol.

                  cheers

                  scotty

                  • I wouldn't have left you guys at the lookout if I knew how bad he was feeling. I don't know if it was the muffin or the latte that was dodgy but he was fine as my passenger (agreed - it's nice to have someone to chat to) until about a 3rd of the way along the reefton spur

that's nasty, hope you're all good now Paul. It'd more likely be pre-meet brekky or something from the night before .. food poisoning tends to take a while or so I'm told ..

hope the rock star incident was external to the vehicle Scotty

thanks for coming out guys, fingers cross for perfect weather next time though .. and if we can get two or more R32's, John's A4 and a few of the Astra/Mazda/Renault/FocusRS guys again for the next cruise it would certainly be a drool-worthy event

ps. Greg that avatar is making it very difficult for me to concentrate
