I have decided to wait until I get the new treads and front suspension top mounts on before I track the machine! Am seriously tempted by the putty road cruise...but will have to see what state the R32 is in

I'm actually organising a track day at Wakefield - On this Friday actually.
If you feel like a drive, your more then welcome to come down & check it all out... I'm sure someone will take you on a hot lap or 2 just to get a feel for it
Going to the track is fantastic, but don't get too wrapped up in the track fees as those will be the least on your concerns... Just remember, your going to put your car under a lot of stress, so you need to make sure everything is nice & healthy with your car... & nooo, I'm not talking about performance mods
Most of the guys I know that hit the track on a semi regular basis will spend a fair bit on machining rotors, oil changes, brake fluid changes, etc.
If you've never been to the track, I'd make sure you go to an event that has a driving instructor present. Although people will say it's not required & it's better to learn by doing, I enjoyed my time on the track a great deal more as I wasn't "figuring out" how to take the corners, I was purely working on perfecting them
The track is obviously not for everyone, but if you drive a performance based car, I personally believe its a great experience & you do learn a fair bit in regards to your ability as a driver & also a great deal about your car.

Unless it is a private track day, Mondays and Fridays at Wakefield tend to be a bit busy with a high noob quotient.
There is a driving Solutions day at Eastern Creek next Wednesday. I'm thinking of going with some mates. A supersprint last weekend showed how out of practice I am at EC.If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.
