Hey mate, have a VCDS Micro-CAN but I'm not sure if it works with the Mk3. It might in generic OBD II mode?

hey man , it appears as it only works on MkV era cars .. same OBD2 connector tho .. i downloaded VAGCOM 409.1 . . compatibility issue with windows .. i think it doenst like 64 bit systems .. cheers anyway..

would anyone happen to know a good VW mechanic ? i need some quotes to see if it's worth fixing the 1.8 .. if not i will be picking up a VR6 engine hopefully ..

Myself and a mate want to get our cars dyno'd. I think Lucas chucked up the idea of a Dyno day in Newcastle.

So if it is still a possibility there is two car guaranteed cars for mid to late June.

I might do mine again to compare it with the results i got in Sydney last month (id rather not drive down to Syd just for a dyno run) and ill tell my friend with the silver GTI to throw his on too. Lets talk about it again mid June.

Toyed around with a R36 sedan on the inner city link road today, was sitting pretty low on black rims. Got the friendly wave as he turned off. I do miss the sound of my VR very much.

Anyone suggest a recognised VW mech in the Ncstle /Lake Macq area who will service our Roc when the time comes? One who will honour all the standard warranty requirements. We bought him in Sydney so don't want to have to travel there for servicing. Apparently we are due for a 'health check' around 7000klm's....

Mate i stumbled across Perry Penfold he only does Dubs , BMWs and mercs .. he's your man .. his workshop is in Georgetown .. very knowledgeable fella .. just google penfold automotive servicing ..

Another option is Newcastle Audi. I had my car serviced there recently because Kloster VW are useless. I know most of the staff at Audi as one of my brothers has worked there for a few years - so i felt much more comfortable leaving it at Audi. They look after some other VW's as well as the Skoda's there too.

Unfortunately only VW can do any warranty jobs - so you cant avoid that if something goes wrong.

See it, everytime I drive down that way. Always parked in front of those apartments.
