QLD VW Drivers Club Qld Meeting- Up & coming Car shows Sth Qld

The Volkswagen Drivers Club Qld are having their monthly meeting this Wednesday night at the Morningside RSL, 481 Wynnum Rd, Morningside.
Starts at 7.30pm.
We have joined the club and hope a few more of you watercooled guys do the same.
It would be so good to have a to have a say and bigger display at all the up and coming car shows.
The plan this year is to have a big watercooled turn out for the VWDC Action Day, Car show as well as:-
The Oxenford Car show
Mudgeeraba Car Show.

And any other shows we hear about

Up to us to put VW out there, be seen and have fun too
We get there about 6- 6.30 have some dinner and then sit in on the meeting, only and hour, so not long.
We mentioned at the last meet about the entrance to last years show for low cars, hopefully now wont be a problem this year.
Will ask for a proper watercooled section this year, was such a good day last year at the show.

From memory it is heavily aircooled but it would be good to get some watercooled representation.

quite a few members like myself have a watercooler for a daily & an old dub for fun, in my case subie converted money pit beetle,
others go 1/2 way between & have an early watercooled & throw a subie engine in it haha
last persident has a T5 & a beetle drag car...
its not just for the older purist aircooled types so dont be shy

-oh and im already getting layout/entry ideas going for action day, my ideas for shows is similar cars with similar cars & easy entry exit in case people want to leave early/arrive late but thats just me

The reason it is heavily air-cooled is because the watercooled blokes don't bother to get involved. It is as simple as that.

Yeah mate the VW watercooled scene is poor here, same old same old really, thats one thing i do miss about the UK show scene, ah well lets hope it changes, but ive been saying that for years now.

you guys have the power to change that, nothing stopping you stepping up a level & going out into the real world off forums, personally i havent looked back since

oh, action day im challenging myself to twist arms of lambo/porsche/audi owners to come too, and possibly a bentley if i can find a friend of friend that owns one nearby, so far only got to the lambo level, fingers crossed hey!

We'll change that, I'm sure of it! If I can find a trustworthy contender to drive my car, I should be able to have the Audi at the show.
