I'd pay him a retainer fee just to turn up to track days in case anything went wrong (plus he showed me how to pull out my rear seat).

My poor little Polo (and I) really struggled just to break 1:55 but geez it was fun to be back on the track again and the whole day was PERFECT - beautiful sunny, still day, great track conditions, terrific company (nothing beats meeting and talking to people rather than just online posts) and on-site catering (thanks Scotty).

      • Tyres 1st. The OEM Conti PremiumContacts showed their limits pretty early.

Then again, there's also the saying "Those who can't, teach"

          • Don't know how everyone else pulled up today....but I struggled big time at work. The trip back was a challenge with only one headlight..!

Well I had a great day yesterday...It was a really relaxed cruisy day. Despite some organisational hiccups before the event I would recommend tampered motorsports for another trackday.
It was awesome to have the carports to store our stuff.

It was a great having 7 VAG cars on the track at once! Adam your car is rocket and you are a super driver. John again your car is a weapon and hopefully i can see more it on the track soon. Tommie your GTI is gorgeous! I want it! Greg it was great seeing your lines and seeing the "econo-box" on the track.

Rhys - COMMITMENT! Travelling all the way from Adelaide to partcipate! Look forward to seeing you again at a track meet. Wish I could have checked out your engine bay! Damn!

I was pretty happy with 1:49 something. Troy was my target all day as our cars have a similar power at the wheels- so to be near him was good! I need to work on the S bends- I need to man up and take it more aggresively.

Troy your car looks way cooler with some track filth- adds character. Lol at you Jump starting it all the time!!!

With the VSSC sprint on July 10 in Winton, hopefully I can make up another second with brakes that actually work.

The mateship that everyone showed yesterday was awesome. Dan seemed to pop up out of nowhere whenever someone needed a hand!

Thanks to everyone that participated and spectated! I must say that it was the best VW related experiences I've had!

Doing a track day is awesome...doing a track day with friends is trully memorable!
Hopefully everyone is keen on another one soon?

Thanks again to the crew that travelled up on Saturday helping me with wheel change and helping etc. Thanks to scott for the sausages.

Can't wait to see some pics!

              • Ha, was so tired at work today, just as Paul was.

Got some more silicon bits on here and there so it should hold up better next time. Can't wait for next time.

Brakes starting to feel abit better on the way home from work today; probably needs some time to recover from the intense heat loads.

                • I was knackered and had to pull over for a nap when driving back (sign of being an old fart!)

You're an ironman, Adzy - there was no way I was going out for that last "all in" session plus you drove up that morning!

                  • Yeah Adzy youve done really well. That little monster of yours is so reliable.
@ Paul thanks again for organising such a great event, your R32 looked wicked around the track.
@ kaanage you drove the wheels off your Polo. Would love to see you going around the track in a 500 hp weapon.
@ Rhys, Paul is right your commitment is unreal. Even at Portland nothing could get you down. Thanks for putting your hand up to lend me your fuel pump. ( Luckily we didnt have to go to that extent).
@ John sorry we couldnt see more of the Audi. The people standing on the straight said it sounded awesome.
@ vwthunder your Polo rock dude! More bling then a Snoop Dogg video clip.
@ Buller_Scott you owe me snags and sausages. hahahaha

                    • Really wish I could have dropped in on the way thru. There was some asian dudes that pulled in to the servo at Benalla when I stopped to fuel up that were obviously only coming it to fuel up and get back out there.. Looked like they were having fun.

                      Maybe next time Tommie!

Lol I was a bit worried going to a track day on 5 hours sleep due to the 2.5 hour drive up and back also, but I felt great... must have been Scottys snags!

I was bringing the 16v back from Tim's.

I caught up with Tommie briefly on Sunday. But I had to go to Canberra, then back to Orange. I was up for 13 hrs of driving so I wasn't keen on ducking in for a chat. haha. Sorry man, if I hadn't have had to do so much crap I would have stopped for sure!

@ mk1turbo79, I got a idea to sort your brake-fading problem without changing the brakes.
