Possible VAG Watercooled Event? Interested in seeing something like this?
so explain to me how you fit over 150 cars through the gates with 2 girls at the gate greeting everyone, categorizing everyone's cars, numbering them , handling cash and making sure the entry runs smooth in 30min? if you can figure that out you can have my job we have 4 people going at once calculating thousands of votes, this stuff takes time, and as i said, what about the people who turn up late, for any decent reason and misses out, for example, a guy who's come from interstate, cant find his way to the show on time because he is lost? gets there 10am for his car to be judged and misses out? you tell me if thats fair?
when theres an issue and you solve it, there's always going to be another one right after it
also if all or most car shows have judging around 2-3pm, dont you think there's a reason for that? its obviously hard work to calculate thousands of vote's and that doesnt take 30min
dom
If you get everyone to pre register and arrive early, there's plenty of time to judge. It was just my suggestion based on my experience at these things. Clearly unwanted. I think I'll skip this one...
yeah i understand your suggestions, but from my experiences, the way i do it is obviously my way of doing it, im not having a go at ya, i have these conversations with people all the time, usually its face to face so it doesn't sound as bad as on the screen.
as for pre judging, thats a great idea and ive always wanted to do it, but at the moment, SEDF is only in its second year, its not owned by a club or someone with company backing, and its also a hobby, not a job, i organize everything myself, i make sure everything on the day is running correctly, everything so things can get very time consuming, even with time i dont have the time in the first place
you send me ideas, i give you my answer's to those idea's yeah? dont be so cut up about my reply's, i actually do have legit reason's as to why your suggestions wont work in the show's that i create, hence my answer's........
Hate to sound like a wet blanket but is the VAG specific scene in QLD big enough to warrant a show? I don't think it is yet.
How about a non-specific Euro/JDM show, kind of along the lines of Players in the UK. Just to get the numbers and interest up & grow the scene first.
It would be a little embarrassing to go to all the effort of organizing a show & all that goes into it and only 40 cars show up of which only maybe half are modified.

this. get the monthly meets growing in size first. when it hits JDMST scale then maybe organise a show?
or coordinate with the porsche club.

Exactly, once the monthly meets become big enough it can evolve into a proper yearly show. Maybe co-ordinate with the Porsche Club and all the other Euro forums, get a big Euro show going.
our monthly meets aint that big, we sometimes get between 3-15 people, advertising and publicity is the key.
say you knew about a show happening in 2 weeks locally, all VAG cars are expected, would you check it out?
everyone has to understand that the VAG scene is alot further beyond VWW..... im not only attracting the VWW crowd... but the public also....
i know this can work, ill sort it out and keep everyone updated

Oh yeah i realise that, the world doesn't revolve around VWW.
It's just that there as not as big a VW prescence up here, you just don't see too many Dubs around up here.
All i'm saying is it might be too early for the sort of show you have in mind. It would be epic, don't get me wrong, it's just it would be more successful if it was open to the wider Euro community.
