Just waiting in line to get on the boat. The end of an epic weekend. A very well organised event and it was lovely to put some faces to familiar names. Dare I say you may see me again next year!I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

Just got back Sydney Side.
What an epic weekend. Usual madness for me, gonna have to stop these 2000k in a weekend wreckers.
Worth it to spend time with my VW Bretheren. old friends and new.
Too many priceless moments to mention.
Managed to get lost on the way back from the pub, whilst lost, I dragged a random falcadore and watched him get nailed by the police. They settled on a dirty look for me and I skulked away.
Also thanks to the lady who managed to dent the front of my car and rip the bumper off on our way out of Melb this am.
Its gonna need a visit to the panelbeaters and some paint luvvin, but not too bad.
Also managed to get back up the Hume without a ticket!!!!!
Victoria always manages to throw a random element in the mix. Nearly died on Friday night on the way down aquaplaining and splashing through floods. Then got proper burnt on Sunday, still hurts today.
Big Thanks to Dom and his crew, getting to be quite a professional operation.
Love to all you dubbers, keep on dubbing, PEACE.sigpic Camden GTI Performance. VW / AUDI Specialists

An epic weekend, always a pleasure to hang out with the dubbers. It was a rollercoaster ride but the show was incredible. I enjoyed myself immensely and although I had a camera in my hand, I didn't take as many pics as I usually do but I had good coverage of the ones that won me over.
I'd like to give mentions to Bima for again putting up with me and handing over the keys to his beloved VR6 for the trip down. I was disappointed not to have been able to take my ****box down but secretly I was thankful we had the VR6. A/C was a must at times and listening to the induction noise flat out from 3000 RPM onwards was addictive. We keep getting free upgrades from Rydges and coming from the western suburbs of Sydney, we felt pretty bad-ass in our rooms. The Newcastle boys, Malcolm and Craig, and Peter the Highlander were great companions for the trip across the border. Unfortunate that Melbourne decided to **** on us with some flash flooding (100+ mm in some areas we were driving through in about 20 minutes, what the ****?) and claiming a VW victim was depressing - pushing it out of knee-high puddles as the rain kept pelting down while on antibiotics wasn't the best of situations. But we soldiered on with full loads in the VR6s fueled with drinks and gangsta rap on the doof doof. I think some of the locals were tip-toeing around us, and we kept the petty station guards pretty honest (unintentionally). I had a great time driving Mal's Mk3 too. Definitely gave me my fix of driving on some lows, and the scraping reminded me of what could have been with my car if I had it ready for this trip.
A big thank you to the Mexicans too, being the welcoming bunch as they always are and providing a weekend full of laughs and shenanigans. Getting lost in the streets of Melbourne was a common occurrence with the way some of the guys drove but hey, in a city where you don't get pulled over for U-turns it wasn't that bad. We all had great fun catching up as well as meeting new people. It was great to see works in progress in the flesh and had some good surprises too with the outcomes of months of hard work. Thank you to Josh and Tim for their hospitality and having us in their homes.
Congratulations and well done to Dom for pulling off another fantastic SEDF. You're pretty much single-handedly flying the flag for Australia in the global dub scene and I've got massive respect for you taking the leap to put us on the map. I've had plenty of ideas in my head but I just don't have the initiative nor the skills to turn them into reality like you have. I really appreciate the offer you've given me in that phone call, and I'll be calling you back very soon once they're sorted out.
Alright, I'm done!Last edited by rayray086; 08-02-2011, 01:17 AM.

Wow... What a weekend! Big respect for you guys and for Dom organising this event. It was nice to be at a show where I wasn't the only Watercooled VW!!
We have some serious talent in Oz and it is about time the rest of the world found out about it.
Big thanks to everyone making us foreigners feel welcome and circumstances permitting, I'll be back next year (with a finished car hopefully!!).
You know you've had an epic few days when you decide to have a sit down and wake up 5 and a half hours later!!
Catch you all next time!I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

Alrighty my decent explanation....
I had never been to Melbourne before, and it was a good chance to get some km's in on the VR6 before it goes into semi-retirement. Had heard good things about Melbourne and decided SEDF was the go.
Didn't really change too much on the car for the show, it is how it is. It's not mint, or fast, or rat. Anything really, but it's about the best I can do with it at the moment. Still love it too bits!
Finished work on Thursday and slept at Ray's house with Burgs, and met up with Bima friday morning for the drive. Picked up Peter in his Passat CC around Bowral.
Filled up 3 times for fuel from Newcastle to Melbourne. Encountered a locust plague within the confines of the Dog on Tuckerbox servo, was very weird!! Was pretty well behaved, no known speeding tickets (point to point eeeeeeek!)
Got to Melbourne, checked in at the hotel and organised to meet up with Josh and the rest of the crew at his house. Didn't quite make it with an unfortunate event involving a mk5 GTI. Got there late but the merc SLS at the pizza shop was awesome. Woody, your directions are dismal! Funnily mentioned we hadn't seen Mischa in ages, and he was at Josh's, good seeing you and Ellen again mate.
Went to "The Factory" had a look at Josh's Mk1 and dribbled for a bit whilst Melbourne got turned upside down.
Saturday was pretty well a write off organising the Mk5 GTI. Was good to help out and got some good insights from some very nice men. Was a pretty impressive sight!
Had a nice Wagyu steak and some beverages at the hotel for dinner and ended up at Tim's house to socialise and meet some more people.
Wash the cars on Sunday morning and then the show, which was awesome!
Scored a ride in Matt's Mk1 Scirocco 20vT, that thing is so awesome congrats mate and thankyou kindly!
So many thanks to Dom, Ray, Tim and Josh for the hospitality and organising of the weekend. Made it much more inviting to make the effort because I was rightly ****ed after driving home to Newcastle yesterday!!
For all the guys I met, Lorenz, Carl, Mitch, Dylan, Dado the list goes in, awesome work and hope to see you again soon!
Peace!Last edited by schoona; 08-02-2011, 05:58 PM.
