      • As everyone else has said brilliant day (apart from the typical Melbourne weather).
Big ups to Dom for yet another well organised event.
Great turnout of cars, lets hope for even more next year.
Massive thanks to Josh and Tim for the hospitality and putting me up.
So good to put some more names to faces and catch up with others I met last year, will be back next year for sure and look forward to seeing some at SA DOVW (27th March)

        • Big thanks to Dom for all the late nights and long days getting this show ready! Also a big thanks to Rob, Amanda, Brit, Evette (and woody) for helping out on the day! It's these people that make sure the day runs nice and smooth (and makes sure dom doesn't going crazy/mad).

Congrats to Van for getting best in show, you car is as immac as ever!

I loved the new location, thought it was a really grouse spot! (except for the dead horses)

Massive thanks to all the locals, and all the interstaters especially without whom this show would be squat! Love the dedication!

Can't wait for the next one!

          • Thanks to All

Great day Dom and a great couple of days for me. Thanks Dom for the work you put into the show and the incessant posts over the last few weeks that convinced me that it was worth making the trip down from Bowral. Thanks to the young guys that put up with me on the drive down and especially for the half hour swap of my car with the tuned GTI. Loved driving your car. Diesel torque but horsepower too. To the Melbourne guys we met, thanks for your hospitality, especially the Obsession ice cream and birthday cake. Thanks to the lovely young lady on the gate at SEDF who stuck a Show and Shine entry sticker on my window because the price was the same as the walk in entry fee for two of us but I have to say I was embarrassed to accept the Passat trophy plate.

My car was still unwashed from the trip down from Bowral and I tried to "hide" it at the show. Back in Bowral tonight my daughter (who drives a Golf) even said "How can you win something when the only individual thing you have done with your car is pay for it. Somehow I have to agree with her but thanks for the votes.

I have to say I was really impressed with the attention and love most of the guys put into their cars and particularly the devotion of some of the much younger generation.

We had a great drive. Back in not much over 7 hours and 5.28l/100km (calculated - not MFD). The TDI CC is a very quiet, comfortable and economical long distance cruiser (but nowhere near as much fun as a tuned GTI).

All in all, a great day at SEDF and I will definitely be back next year when I am sure Dom will conjure up an even bigger and better event.
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

            • Had a interesting, but good w.e.
Thanks so much for Dom for organising, all the people that assisted him in running the show and people manning the gates/food areas.
Great to see and meet all the dubbers and their cars!
Thanks to the melbourne crew for looking after me and entertaining me as usual
After a shocking start to satruday (6hr drive (that should have been less then 3hrs), the run in with the law, and the crap weather) was made all worth while on sunday
I didnt take any photos (left one camera at home, other went flat, even phone gave out on sunday...)
Cant wait for the next meet and next SEDF!

              • What weekend!

                WOW

                Soooooooooooooo sunburnt

Weekend took off with a slow wet start, dodging flooded roads and running in the rain.

Saturday we had a ripper feed at the Hawthorn and then went our seperate ways.

Sunday "beeep beeeep beeeep" I have the worst sounding alarm ever. Anyways back on topic arriving at the meet point for the cruise I was a happy man! So good to see all those cars there. Thanks Paul.

The show was epic fun, pity about the rain patches but come afternoon it was back in full swing. Mega thanks to all those voted and bought raffle tickets. Im sure Steve is a happy bloke with a years subscription to PVW.

Well done to those from Interstate, coming along is awsome and im sure the roadtrip is half the fun. With people from NSW, Canberra, SA and TAS we cant complain.

I do say after presentation things really kicked off, the Slider came out, photo's, food and general fun. Those with Mk3's will be happy with the little Mk3 shoot we had...

Afternoon BBQ and pub meal was a hoot!

                Thanks everyone!

BTW fair to say there were a few hot laps taken up and down the road outside the show.

                        • Just got home from the airport not long ago, what a massive weekend.

Firstly as others have said, I would like to thank Dom and his sponsers for their time and efforts put into the show, it is by far the best car show I have been to, the quality of the cars, the organisation of the show and the people at the show were all wonderful. I will be definately making an effort to get to some future shows.

Secondly a massive thank you goes for the help and assistance I have recieved over the past couple of days from my fellow NSW travellers and the people in VIC who have really helped me out over the past few days in Particular Mal, Ray, Bima, Lucas and Peter Fitgerald. I truely appreciate all the running you guys have done for me over the past couple of days, you are all absolute champions. From a personal perspective I cannot speak high enough for the service provided to me by Lucas at Eurospeed and and Peter at Fitzgerald Racing, you both have provided a level of service I have previously not experianced and I recommend you to anyone who down that way who is after work to be done on their cars.

This past weekend has really highlighted to me the quality of the people in this community, despite what happened to my car I don't regret the trip and am really glad that I have had the chance to meet you guys down there and meet some of my fellow NSW members. After this weekend, how ever might things pan out with my car I will be making an effort to stay in the VW Family.

Now to the business end. Who owns the Blue MK4 R32 that was near the stables with the plates MY-R32. I saw the couple drive away in it before I could say anything.
