Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

In fact next year once I have a tow pack installed maybe I could offer my services as a tow and service vehicle in trade for some laps in a golf.
You don't need a VW to attend mate.

A mate of mine was going to track his Transporter last year, but work got in the way... I reckon it would've been quite a site

Unless you're out with the Porsche guys, no track day is any different in regards to facilities available.

The Shop will be open to buy lunch etc & yes you will have a car bay (Or bays since we don't have huge numbers) available to store all your gear etc.

Other then that, you can buy race fuel from the track but I do not know of anyone who has ever done that due to the uber high costs (Approx $3.00 p/L). There is a Mobil servo which most people use, but would strongly suggest bringing a jerry can or 2 along to save the mucking around. They also have air facilities to top up your tyres as well... Basically the essentials

            Hi All

In regards to accommodation, if you are planning on staying down there, I would suggest booking ASAP. The Police Passing Out Parade is on the same day as the Track Day & subsiquently there aren't many options for accomodation left

PS - There will be a group of us going to dinner after the track day, so if your keen to come along, please let me know so I can book everything up appropriately.

Silly them - they should use the track day to find out WHAT needs modding.

                        Hoyhoy.

Folks looking for accomodation, don't overlook the track set-up, its great & very social with a giant lounge-combined kitchen (ex Homebush Bay), then there are six double bedrooms with individual keys & three seperate bathrooms with showers.
We use to stay in town until last time & now we will be staying @ the track all the time in future, we had two cars & drivers plus seven visitors, it was a great time had by all. Volenteers went to town to get din-din (big feed of KFC done the trick)(plus our own grog).
We were able to keep the keys until late on the track day itself (sunday), so the women spent most of the time at the cabin with a great view & their own coffee supply.
The Son & myself walked down the track to the cars that were locked in a shed ready to go for the day (extra cost).

In in shorter words I highly recommend the track for a bed.
                        $60.00 per head.
                        Hooroo.
