Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Reflash took around 20 minutes, done on the spot. APR access the diag port (just above the pedals) to do the update.

Rather wet trip home, but could easily tell there was a difference with the power delivery. I don't think the traction control works that well with the extra power hahaa... Aweful knocking noise when the inside wheel brakes traction under power while cornering. Looking forward to a drive on dry roads for a proper evaluation.

Valid for all orders placed / paid for on the day.
Nice offer but why is it that us pogo owners always seem to miss out on the discounts? Also wasn't it cutting it a bit short with the discount announcement too? If I had known earlier then I would've come along to order the ko4 upgrade. Assuming that's included in the deal?

speaking to the guys on the day apparently everything was prepared with only 4 days to spare, so you can imagine how difficult it would have been setting everything up, then you have to decide whether to offer specials ect, if you keep in the meets loop, youll be surprised how many times open days offer specials on the day, ill be hopefully running a specials day at SEDF but thats still to be discussed further.

Yes that could explain part of the reason but offers do commonly get thrown for the golf owners more often than for pog owners from what I've seen from APR. I understand this is probably due to the fact that the pog is not offered in US of A but you can understand my and I suppose others frustration???
Also an earlier notification wouldn't hurt and may generate more sales on the day cause as some of us would understand, we've got partners and on some occassions for the more exxy priced stuff, we need time to "convince" our partners into letting us go ahead with the "buy". Hence a day before announcement doesn't really help us do wonders does it? ANyway, that's all I've got to complain about...I really did hope to attend yesterday so I could keep in the "loop" but once again, unfortunately we have to commit to our partners even unexpectedly...hope this explains my and I'm sure some others predicament. Gti Dave out...

My problem wasn't with the short notice to the partner.... it was easy to justify it because it was a bargain - just like she does after a shopping excursion. My problem was... so what can I buy now? We just got back from the camera shop Was a rather expensive experience for me

Kicking myself I totes forgot about this one. I would have purchased and paid for the Stage 1 and just brought the R in when I took delivery... Shoit!

Thanks to all who attended, good turnout!

GTI Dave, sorry for the short notice - we have been working 14 hour days for the past week calibrating cars & only got around to it then. A couple of Polo owners certainly took advantage of the offer.

It was so successful that hopefully we will make it an annual VIC event.

I was working all weekend so didn't get to come

What's worse is that for some reason the forum never emailed me updates about this thread until just now (Guy's post above triggered it) so I've missed the discount :sigh:

Any other discounts closer to the holidays perhaps?

May I ask what they got on the day that was applicable for 20% discount and is US stock?

Good question? I was there until noon and was the only one with a polo to that point and they didn't have anything for me to buy, couldn't even get upgraded software as stage 1 v2 was all that was offered and I have that. Time to move on I think and why would you pay there outrageous prices, when everyone else in the market is competitive and want your business, they treat you like you would be lucky to have there product.

                            cheers and good luck ssman

Unfair comments IMO towards APR ssman
What would you consider outrageous prices??
