“It’s that time of year again - the Volks Enthusiasts Club of SA presents a Volkswagen Festival for all. Sunday Nov 28th Volkswagen Street Party ‘Show & Shine’ at Todd St, Port Adelaide and best of all its FREE to come and have a look. Over a hundred Volkswagens of all types will be on display, 20 Throphy categories, live band ‘BlackCat Bone’, Trader stands, food and drink stalls. Entries from 9am to 11am and show closes 4pm. All competitor entries $15. The festival is the Club’s largest and most important event and each year attracts large crowds and plenty of public and media attention.
Background - The Volks Enthusiasts Club of South Australia was formed in August 1996, is non-profit and grew out of a desire to provide VW enthusiasts with an opportunity to meet regularly to build and promote the VW scene. The club's membership of over 125 members includes many people with long years of VW knowledge. We cater for revival and restoration of any VW powered vehicle - either standard or modified. Some of the members cars include: early beetles and Kombi’s, kit cars, Drag cars, street beetles running big motors up to 2330cc's, various type II's, Type III's and water cooled cars. We are also encouraging owners of any Historic Competition VW's to display their vehicles and thereby build interest in a precious bygone era and, more importantly, to ensure the restoration of original cars. A Club magazine called "Volks Enthusiasm" is also available to members. We work with other VW clubs to promote the VW manqué. We regularly hold a variety of events, including: VW Convoys, Shows, Information Schools, Swap Meets, Interstate trips and various VW style social events.”
