I too dropped in for a look.....some wonderful cars on show. Yes mainly air cooled but quite a number of watercooled on show too.

I looked at the pics and comments on the boost cruising site where the pics are (2 posts up ^)

Seems they need some education....confused Polos with Golfs

All in all, a great turn out

Great turn out, got a bit sunburned. Great to see the air cooled scene is strong up here, could easily be swayed only dont have the time, some crackers there for sure. Pretty good Watercooled turn out too. Nice to catch up with some watercooled folks too.
Also managed to help out a watercooler in need on the way. All good.

Great to see a nice number of the watercooled owners getting out and putting their cars on display. Albiet the majority are aircooled the show also caters for watercooled VW's of all shapes and sizes as well. I for one love my old school but certainly do also appreciate the watercooled stuff as well. Once my house renovations are complete a mark 6 GTI may well reside in my driveway along with my 76 bus... best of both worlds!!

It was a great turn out. That cream and white combi with the red pin stripe was the sexiest thing I've ever seen. So many great old VWs.

Personally I think that Black MkV GTI with those R wheels should've got best daily drive...

Good weather too and a credit to all the VW enthusiasts.

Thats my mk1 , yeah it was the only one there but thats not unusual for the QLD scene, I had a good day got some great feedback aswell.

Driveway getting in almost ended my day early it was a joke!!!! There was a good number of waterpumpers and 4 went home with trophies which is a great thing for our scene

                Awsome Day

After almost not getting there, the day turned out great, thanks to Jimmy, our knight in shining armour who saved the day for us. BIG THANKS JIMMY
It almost ended up as a disaster,we got to the Wynnum rd, traffic lights when as we stopped we heard a loud noise, and as we tried to drive off we couldn't, the front drake siezed we thought. Called poor Jimmy, when he arrived and looked at the front DS wheel I just head F**** the brake calliper is hanging down. sure enough some how the top bolt was missing and it was just hanging there. Thanks to Jimmy, who got us going, we arrive at the show at 9.30, all our nerves were very frayed, far- out we could have been killed, talk about stress.
After all that we had a great day, the weather was perfect, all got a bit sunburnt, great turn out, meet some nice people, awesome cars, the show was bigger than we expected. To top the day off we took home the Modified Watercooled trophy, in Chris's name of cause!! , babied her all the way home, got home safe, Annie (HAH44) tucked up safely in her room
Here are some nice pics of the day:-

                Love these:-

                Which is the real one???

I have to admit I was jealous not to get best watercooled, but that paint on hah44 is stunning...

And after that near catastrophe, a well deserved prize.

I had a great day, great turn out of vw's....I should have taken some pictures but I got so distracted looking at all the cool water-cooled and air-cooled cars some were seriously modified.
I had to leave early to get out of the sun, i ended up getting so sun burnt. The vr6 won an award which a mate collected for me which is nice.
                        sigpic....low enough me thinks

You mean the half dozen bricks that you had to drive over!!!

Yeah, nice MkI, shame I couldn't get my MkI convertible there, it's in pretty good nick but my brother who's over from the UK was cruising on the gold coast in it.

                          Defo next year.
