I was racing my bog stock 1978 GLD with a dial in of 13.80, and in practice she broke traction!!! I wasn't being serious this year but going a couple of rounds with wins i was like maybe i should go for it, the final race saw a very close run against a new beetle and myself i won by .070 so it was close
Enough about me, as usual i was racing so i didn't get to many pictures myself only took pictures of the 4 cars that came out as a team. Some of the crew did take a variety of pictures have to sort that out and post them up.
The weather made for a interesting weekend it pretty much rained everywhere else but Warwick on Sunday it was a awesome day, Saturday we had light drizzle on and off but still managed to get some qualifying runs in but more importantly testing 83gti's CHILD.
With a brand new combo with less than 2hours of run time on the engine and no dyno time best run of the day was a 8.9 over the 1/8th mile, the car did fight the crew all weekend with small issues but being a new combo it was expected. The crew are slowly tuning the nitrous into the car the 8.9 was done with only a 50hp shot so plenty to go. I do have a video of the pass which ill have to host over the next week.
The other boys in our crew did well Jake in his mk1 passat did a best time of 10.7 also with a new combo and had a few issues himself. Steven in his mk1 2door had so much fun he was pulling 2nd burnouts in the burnout pad, he did a 11.1 so he was happy (also broke 2nd gear hahahaha)
All in all was a great!!!! weekend alot of interest was showed by the air cooled guys in our cars, everyone was friendly and very chatty. Was a shame a couple of the water cooled guys canceled at the last minute, also thanks to Craig from VW mag Australia for alway promoting water cooled racing and also water cooled features in his magazine.
Well done the Revnit crew, i saw CHILD in the middle of cam dial up, was wondering how it all went. Will have to catch up with you to here all the good oil
Cheers
