    You are already cleaning your cars NOW.??

    There is a WEEK to go

    Dont you use them??

    So the show is just for the cleanest car then??

    Sorry just read the first post,

    JUDGING:

    All entrants cars will be judged for cleanliness and presentation.

    Cleanliness;

    Is obvious, however, to make all aware of the judging criteria, the following applies,

    You will lose points for the following;

    If the inside of the wheels have not been cleaned.
    If the underside of the mudguards have not been cleaned.
    You have not used a tyre dressing on the tyres.
    Door jams have not been cleaned.
    Motor & engine bay have not been cleaned.
    Interior not vacumed.
    Dirty or smudged windows.

    Any portion of your vehicle that can be seen by the judges WILL be judged, and any part that shows traces of dirt, dust, grease, etc will have points deducted.

    PRESENTATION:

    Your vehicle will be judged in accordance with how YOU present the vehicle;

    You will lose points if;

    You leave chairs against or next to your vehicle.
    If you leave car cleaning products, drink containers or ANY other objects in your car during the the time your car is being judged.

    Its a clean car contest then.

    I dont stand a chance, mine actually gets used every day, infact I am doing a wedding the day before, so it is what it is

      I use mine everyday too. But I'm starting now because it takes a while to clean and polish the exterior, vacuum and polish the interior etc etc. I'll give it another clean before Sunday, but I still probably won't be up to standards. Plus the car needed it anyway (the wheels in particular were filthy).

        It has been a "clean Car" contest since I attended my first in 1996, and so has every other I attended Interstate except for the last one. This gives everyone an opportunity, rather than just those who bought the most expensive car.

        Our Golf will be used on Saturday morning to pick up our new camper trailer while the Polo is the daily run around, that will get a work over after work this week + saturday, whatever will be left of it.

          And that is the way I look at these shows. Even if I don't come home with a trophy, at least I saw many beautiful VWs, and my cars had a clean that they may not have got.

                  Neither am I but I didnt realise it was just a clean car show,

                  I thought the judges actually looked at what had been done to the car , ie engineering, originality, ect

                  Just going to meet up with others

                          • I dont see how that post led you to think I dont know how to clean a car??

                            Just didnt realise it was just on how clean your car is not on the rest, I did think it had something to do with the originality, or the engineering , or the interior ect,,??

                            So as I use my car I am at a disadvantage, but lets just say some old retiree, who has loads of time to sit at home and clean his car, and not use it until the day of the show, that doesnt make his better than mine, just cleaner.

                            I like the reason that it was to stop people with the most money to spend from winning, but if you had bought a new car the day before, you must be in with a good chance??

                              Your exactly right there mate, but this is how these sort of car shows are (and always have been) judged.

                              A little unfair to alot, but at the end of the day its not about winning prizes, its all a bit of fun and a good chance to show off our nice rides.

                              You could go buy a new car off the showroom, tow it down there and win a prize... but thats just boring

                              Look forward to meeting some new people there this time, should be a half decent turnout. Will remember the gazebo this time (well Robin... dont forget it!!)

                              • Dont get me wrong I am not a trophy hunter, I did all the work on my van myself, and I dont care if people like it or not, I did it to please me not anyone else,

                                This started because someone posted that they had nearly finished cleaning their car for the show, I couldnt understand that people start a week before, then I realised it was just about how clean the car is not on anything else.

                                Which to me is a bit iffy as the ones who actually use their cars will never get them as clean as people who dont.

                                I am going as we are organising a meet before at Bunnings Marion at 8.15 am so we can all cruise down there.
                                Its about mates meeting up and the excuse is the show.
