  • QLD VW Open Evening - Austral Brisbane 18/01/2010

As per my previous thread, I have set a date in conjunction with Austral here in Brisbane.

I am pleased to announce that the initial VWWatercooled / Austral Volkswagen Open Evening with Free BBQ will be held on the evening on Monday 18th Jaunary 2010, from 6.30 to 8.30pm.

Limited SHORT test drives will be available on the night, but these will be by pre-arrangement only. Please advise by response to this thread if you would like to be put in the mix for a test drive, and if so of what vehicle (which will be subject to availability). Test drives will also be subject to the usual disclaimers - you must be licensed to drive the class of vehicle being tested, sign the insurance documentation, etc.

There will be some lucky door prizes on the night, merchandise from the VW shop.

    Also a free BBQ!

They have also offered to do a good deal (details as yet unspecified) for anyone that signs for a vehicle from the evening, so if you are planning on being seriously in the market at that time let me know and it will help us negotiate that.

Please post here if you would like to nominate to attend the event. It will be open door on the evening, but knowing who is coming will be of assistance to us in organising the event.

I will edit this first post with attendees information as it is supplied. For those that have expressed interest in the other thread, please confirm here.

I should be able to make it on that date and time. I wouldn't mind test driving a Golf 118TSI manual/sports pack. I'm trying to talk the missus into letting me get one sometime next year.

I should be able to make it, i am back in Oz then.

Wouldn't mind a test run in a 125 Tiguan if there is one.

Edit: I am not able to make a purchase on the night but i want to see how it drives in view of a purchase in the near future.

Edit 2: I would like to drive a manual if possible.

I'm keen to come alone, if only to put my name down to say I'm interested in a R20.

I'm in - i'd like to drive either or both of
                        - MkVI GTI
                        - Passat WAGON (preferably the R36 as that's the one we're really interested in)

                        Edit: Pref DSG versions.

Pick one... I doubt there will be time on the night for both, and in the interests of sharing what limited time there is, I think one would be fair.

You will obviously be able to arrange time for another occasion for further drives...

Ah, OK, i was happy to do either (whichever is better for the group).

R36 wagon is my first preference if available.
