Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

            Hi alex and brian,

I organised our club to foot the bill for the club audi victoria trophies and Audi centre melbourne were very generous to supply us with a S5 and prize bags for all of our club members who were lucky enough to take home a trophy. As a condition of our club participating on the day and getting audi's involved with this event, i had to judge the best audi trophy which was generously sponsored by volkewerke. It would have been a bit to much to expect the volkswagen car club of victoria to provide model specific trophies to an unknown quantity.Even more so since the day is a volkswagen day not an audi day. I know i have been pushing for members involvement for the day and also promoting the day on ozaudi.I can honestly say with 25 audi vehicles in one place at the same time was a fair achievement and would easily have been one of the largest gatherings of audi's this country has seen.I have gone up to canberra and participated at the german autofest the last 2 yeasr. Thanks again to the volkswagen car club of victoria for allowing us in.It was good to meet a few of you watercooled boys down on the day and we will definately be seeing you guys down at South east dub fest.

I'm with you on that one ! yeah 40 mins. in the queue, esp. as a lot of us pre-registered, was a bit disappointing, but on the plus side, I was directly behind the winning beige Mk 1 from Geelong...not only does it look great, it also starts every time when turned on-and-off repeatedly (meantime my very hot 'hot motor' hated every minute of the long queue )

Great day guys, esp. meeting some of the interstate guys. DOVW has certainly grown since my 1st time in my '66 Harbour blue bug, back in 1986...would have been lucky if there was 60 cars total then......

No problems! Towing capacity on a Bora 4 motion is 1400 kg to 1600 kg depending on how you read the manual.

What you have to watch though is the ball weight which is somewhere between 75 to 85 kg depending on the hitch and how you interpret the manual. That's why the Passat is loaded backwards.I use bathroom scales under the coupling to determine the best position on the trailer.

                              Pulls and stops no worries.

CC ECU flash, Milltek exhaust and Gen 1 Haldex are probably helping too.

Oh and I was still overtaking too! Passed a few of those Aircooled cars on the way

pedro (peedman) has the dark blue (actually more purple I thinks) with the racks. DIESEL POWER!

and a bloke named bretty owns the race prep VR! runs a full cage & serious donk, but unsure of all the specs. he works at Volkspower.
