  • Launceston/Tamar cruze and lunch

OK.. here's the plan so far:

    * Weekend of 17th of March (Probably Saturday)
    * Meet in Launnie, cruise to Georgetown up E Tamar Hwy, back down W Tamar Hwy (or something like that) ending up at Rosevears Pipers Valley Vineyard
    * Lunch at Daniel Alps' "Strathlynn" restaurant subsidised by Mathom Farm (donates meat and cheese) and Ian (Leading Chef aka "Silverbullet" username)
    * Return to Launnie in afternoon.

    EOI regarding organisation to Brackie:
    Suggest:
    86gti....route, Benny?
    Silverbullet...menu, Ian?

This gtg is to a large extent decided by availability of the restaurant as it is heavily booked for functions most weekends so if you are coming along we have little or no flexibility regarding dates. Partners and children are welcome just let us know numbers.

Please indicate your attendance positively as we need to know numbers firmly due to catering commitments. Your lunch will be special and memorable! Above all, don't be a "Brackie" and pull out at the last minute!

im in for shure i will organise a map Brackie.
Im thinking on the west tamar side we can get off the high way and head Deviot way. basicly a road that follows the river from the batman bridge into Exeter, then onto Rosevears drive......
map below..just an idea. we could get off the beaten track in a few times, but we might be pushed for time.

Orange line for the 1st leg.
            Blue line for second leg....
blue line a bit wonkey, i must of had a few drinks in george town, lol
            Cheers, Benny

I'll second that Brackie!!! All of the Tassie people should be jumping at the chance to go for a cruise!

                      put me down for 2.
would have been more (i was going to get someone in the mk1 aswell) but due to a $@#% cop, my golf will be having a holiday b4 then, so ill be in the mk1. Mk2 was defected for the dumbest things on wed night and it has to go for a full pit inspection at the main transport branch
Cracked windscreen (ill admit defeat in that case)
                      Cracked driving light
                      insecure grill (WTF?)
                      tail lights too dark
                      wear in seat rails
the list goes on............i was being nice to begin with, but that was stupid.
so i told him what i thought and he gave me a nice fine to go on with ....

so, unless i get an extension, or get it all sorted ill be in the mk1.
                      Cheers, Benny

And some of the wrecks we see...

And some of the wrecks we see on the road get away with it for years. Who stopped you? Police or traffic inspectors? If it was the latter I can understand the attention to detail, however I doubt if the former have the qualifications to go into that much of a detailed inspection. Anyway, it sounds like it will be easy to get through the inspection...only the 'screen will be expensive.

So at least we'll still see you on the cruze

I might (depending on work/uni) be able to attend. The problem is I am without Golf. I could be there in the Hilux, aka: VW Taro:

...but would really prefer to ride shotgun with someone.

                              Just be there!

Doesn't matter what you drive on the day (why not borrow you folks' Mk5?). In your heart you're a Golf man and that's all that counts. This is a social event and an opportunity for us to get together and have a yarn.
