Would be good to hear from some up the Launnie locals about best places to stay?

    try that for starters..
the great northern has a good secure car park..and im led to believe its quite cheap...just a 2 min walk to CBD.

elizabeth st is close to the CBD, only bout 5 mins walk to the center of town.

Just checked out the link Benny. There is a **** load of places to stay but i have no idea where they are in relation to things of interest. i.e drinking. How much does everyone want to spend on a room. Im not like Paris Hilton and expect to stay in 5 star room but as long as the car is safe and i can find my way back at night i'm happy. Any thoughts?

P.S my brother is confirmed for the trip as well now.

        Accommodation in Launnie

Try "The North Lodge" opposite City Park. It's cheap and probably will suit your requirements as it's a saunter to the CBD.

Maybe we should all find the same hotel to stay at. I think it would be heaps easier...or more fun!

Sounds good Golfgirl. Since i'm a foreigner(Victorian) i'll let you lot decide on the place and i'll follow. I like the sound of a few froothies at the end of the day and talking crap about our Golfs with fellow enthusists.

              Jared

P.S if everyone wants to share rooms to save a few bucks i'm alright with that. Like Andrew i'm a quiet bloke too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had another look on wotif.com looks like the colonial on Elizabeth is a good one. You can get Queen/Twin Room (one queen bed + 1 single bed) for 2 people for $110 on the night of the 17th of March.
I won't be needing to share a room. I have one of my friends coming with me so I'll be sharing a room with her.
I'm not going to book until closer to the date due to lack of money at the moment...but that will be where I'm going to stay.
                  What do you guys think?
It's cheap between 2 people...and it's central with off street parking for our cars

The colonial is pretty good. Cant go wrong with the plenty of parking. Lived in launie for 2 years and recommend it.

Eek! I need to "pull a brackie" – I cannot attend this event.

I need to drop off the face of the earth for a while. Nothing personal, just got heaps of crazy stuff going down.

I shall get active within 'the scene' asap.

                          Cheers.

                              Firming up on numbers

OK, Tassies and guests... It's 2 weeks to the event and I need to know firm numbers for catering purposes.

So, If you're going to attend you need to add to this thread asap and give number of bodies. Ian is organising the food and we are supplying him (our contribution is free of course) so it will take a firm commitment from all to make this happen.
