Awesome photos guys!
Looks like you had a great day.
Treza, I took this pic last weekend after I had been up to Sydney in the city. Filled up the day before with BP.
I love my TDI...hehe
Mind you that once you get on the freeway its basically just cruising along in sixth for most of the journey. Although 1/4 of that trip was in heavy city traffic.
The last big trip I did with the family was down to Canberra via the Kings Highway. Its got lots of bends, windy roads, mountains and hills etc. I averaged 5.9L and I wasn't playing around. Its amazing how the TDI engines perform yet can keep the economy down as well.
Although I've gotta say, the higher economy in the R is worth it for the sound...lol!
Sorry dude.. Had to post this one. He even had his own mechanic mat!
Some info about the day: Average consumption: 7.2L/100km Round trip distance: 369km Average speed (MFD - total): 63km/h Round trip time: 5 hours 52 minutes Average speed (GPS - moving): 76km/h
Cheers to Sean for organising the cruise. Good job mate!!
Ps. It'll be good to see Salem's 'out of car experience' shots =P
for the Polo:
Average consumption: 7.7L/100km
Round trip distance: 319km
Average speed: 67km/h
Round trip time: can't recall
Average speed (GPS - moving): NA
Great pics, that was a good day out. Good bunch of guys, cheers too.
Pretty happy with the fuel consumption, through the lions rd and Mt Lindsay twisties I was giving it the berries. That's probably the second big day drive I've done and continue to be happy with the car.
Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

Bah...windey and hilly roads was what the TDI was built for. I'm sure you wouldn't have had any trouble keeping up
I know about the chipping/remapping, we got the GT sport done and its like a rocket on steroids.
Nice pics too!
Looks like a really fun road. Was it very busy with other cars?
Hmmm it wasn't all too bad traffic wise.. Apart from the odd caravan that literally appeared out of nowhere, it was good. Oh and ask Trent about a certain Camry driver...
Ps. Cam I've only got the 103... For now
