    drive-through **** judging imo sorry.

I'm sure, in fact CERTAIN everybody is ecstatic knowing that you're car will be covered in bugs driving there and having to stop in a car park and detail your car again to make sure it looks mint. THEN to be judged without other cars being there at the same time, without knowing if your going to be parked in groups just eratically all over the place. I know i am, guaranteed...............

Are the judges also part of the Victorian Rotary Club and Bingo Club? Sorry ClubKeno? lol

I think its pretty ridiculous in my opinion as a lot of entries will be coming a long way and would rather not have their car judged as they turn up but infact as per group of each type of vehicle with the other competitors if you would like to call it.

At the end of the day, im going for the sake of it i couldnt care less about winning or losing however i would like to be parked accordingly to group and not sitting next to a aircooled beetle (sorry herbie lovers) lol.
    What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

A word of advice for entrants.

Make sure you take out all your personal items including tables, chairs, shades, blankets, car cleaning equipement etc. You may lose points for the clutter in your car, and that all of the detail in your car is covered by these items.

Classes that concern us for people interest:

        Standard Golf Mk1 & Mk2
        Standard Golf Mk3 & Mk4
        Standard Golf Mk5 & Mk6

        Other Models (Standard)
        Watercooled Pre 2000
        Watercooled 2000 on

        Modified Golf (All Years)

        Best Audi

        Pre Entry link: http://www.vwclub.com.au/promo/dotvw_reg.pdf

I know there will be some concerned people regarding the modified class so this is from the website.

The Day of the Volkswagen 2009 - Judging Arrangements
Entry forms and judging criteria for 2009, the main features of which are -

Split judging forms for modified and standard vehicles
A bonus points system for standard vehicles to encourage the preservation and display of standard vehicles
Separate 'Best of Show' trophies for standard and modified vehicles
Relaxation of restrictions on entering modified vehicles in standard categories. (Vehicles which are of a standard appearance but are, for example, lowered with different wheels, engine and interior components, can now enter a standard category if they choose. This will avoid having to compete against heavily modified big budget vehicles. They may not, however, score bonus points for originality, and as such, presentation and quality of paint, interior etc will have to be of the highest standard).
Entry forms have been created for modified vehicles with an expansion of judging criteria and categories
Introduction of a judges' choice award. This may go to a vehicle which does not generate a high score but may be of special interest due to being:
        -An historically significant vehicle
-A one owner original car well preserved
-A modified vehicle with an individual concept that is new to the VW scene
Under Body judging has been removed from the judging criteria and has been reserved for future Concourse events
Cars will be judged prior to being parked. Judges will be located in the main car park outside the main entrance to the venue from 9.00am to 11.00am. Judging concludes at 11.00am.

Cars can be detailed prior to judging using the asphalt car park area adjacent to the judging lanes. When a car is ready to be judged the owner will join the end of the judging lane (either standard or custom). When the car has been judged the owner can then park the car inside the venue if there is space otherwise the outside parking areas can be used. It is not necessary to park like vehicles together as we have done in previous years.

We are looking forward to the Day of the Volkswagen being a fun day for all and realise that while many great cars will be on display, not everyone can win. Judges will try to ensure that the judging will be fair for all who enter.

        Good luck to all!
At the end of teh day its all about getting together, having fun and looking at each other cars. Dont make it a grudge match please.

What's the general view about parking the Golf's together, as previously, maybe in the same place, as previously? Good idea, yes?

ok guys, ive put my hand up for the watercooled section at DOVW

as you all know im all in for supporting the watercooled community so dont give me **** for this bit of info, take it in and work onnit,

from history's information, the papers say that their isnt enough watercooled cars entered at DOVW to have their own categories

how many polo's were there last year? 2!
how many awards are given out in each category? 2!

how many boras and jettas were there last year, 2 maybee 3?
how many awards are given out in each category? 2!

can you see were im coming from?

                    also the modified golf category
we cant break up the categories because well only have like 3 or 4 models in each modified golf category, so untill we can get HUGE numbers, itll stay just generic MODIFIED GOLF all years.....

the systems tuff but there really isnt any other way untill we see numbers over 100 entries of WC cars.......

on that note, we are doing not too bad this year with HALF the pre entries going to WATERCOOLED CARS!!!
