Looks like a fun day. I'm heading down on the 5th September. Can't wait.

Curious...how did the 6 MPS go?

Thanks again to Matt for organising a great day - it was a fantastic day at the track and great to put some faces to usernames.

Managed to get the Polo down to 1:12.7 just after lunch which is my PB with the car, so very happy with that.

Thanks for the photos Ian - that R32 is sounding better and better each time it goes out!

not sure what the 6MPS put down time wise, wasn't an offical "timed" day.

              great time james!

I managed a PB on the day too... was very happy

                    1.12..

What are you running under that polo??
I could only manage to squeeze out a 1.14

The R32, Rs4 and GT2 were the best sounding machines of the day. Some of the liberty's were ok but the ROAR of the R32 is unforgettable

1.14 is very quick for the Polo - you'd be ahead of most of the Boxster S drivers at Wakefield on a Porsche club day - myself included.

Power wise my Polo isn't modified too much - APR Stage 1 tune, exhaust and SEAT intake. That time is more about what isn't running around the track - things like back seats, interior trim, roof lining, spare tyre, tool kit, sound deadening etc etc etc.

                      • Thanks to everyone involved, kudos to Matt for pulling it all together and handling the cash.

Props to James and his Polo, amazing speed and grip through the corners on his suspension / wheel setup. Real eye opener to see what the Polo can achieve.

Kyrie with his TTS had a great time (as did I taking it out for a few conservative laps) and I think he's going to be a mod / track convert...

Bfeboi was pulling ahead of me through every corner, I'm going to salvage some dignity and blame my tyres (using the old Conti's was a cheap option, but they just don't hold the grip when warm).

Was happy at not noticing the heat soak, kept hitting 170's down the straight (which is probably more like 155 i later realized as the speedo is out). No engine heating issues, only dislike is the brakes have been glazed or some other issue. Is slowly settling down, still plenty of pad left.

Hope the next one is not to far away, but long enough so I can get a few small (and hopefully inexpensive) mods down.

                          • No worries gents!

Glad everyone had great time I don't think anyone thought the day could've gotten better (Turn out was good, great selection of cars, weather etc) but then a few of us got a hot lap in a 911 turbo!!!

Me thinks I need to get rid of my jap crap after the issues I had after 1 lap!!!

James, your Polo is amazing... Still trying to get my eyes back in their sockets! & Ian's R32... Mate, that think sounded horn!

Was great to meet everyone & have a bit of a laugh & some fun through the day.

Overall, I had a fantastic time & can't wait to the next day!... Next day I organise, I strongly suggest staying down there the night... Let's just say a few of us may have made the local pubs day! At last count, 7 of us spent a combined $1300 just on Friday night!!!

Some nice pics there - thanks for linking across to that thread.

Any lap times from the Liberty guys? I know you mentioned some of those cars were running 200+ kW at the wheels which is just amazing - would be interesting to know how that translated into lap times.
