Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Robbie Williams is 2 weeks after in Adelaide. Thats pretty well paid for now.
The only problem I really have is that after a few days off work it really builds up workwise. I am still doing 5.30 starts after my 2.5 days off in Melbourne for the GTI thing. Am booked solid till October the 10th too so any breakdowns mean earlier starts! Its a big juggling act.
Still, I am going to try and see how I can manage to get accross. I don't think it will be as hectic as the GTI weekend. I have been to the DOVW a few times. Only in aircoolers though.
Par 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd
Caddy van 05/07 (colourcoded) (BRIGHT! orange!) coilovers, Konis 18in. wheels, Oettinger tuned

When is the DOVW? Can anyone enter? Its in Melbourne?

Is it ok if a mate tags along in a typeRice Still not sure if I'll make it, the joys of modified cars

Do u guys realise the Aus rally championship is on this wknd?
They have a service park at the yarra valley race course where u can walk around and look at all the rally cars....
why dont u guys drive up there and have a look. U can then even go to a few stages.. it only costs about $15 bucks

Final round of the championship too, is it? Well worth a look. Evans and Pedder are so much faster and spectacular to watch than the others.

IMO its actually kinda ghey to watch. I went up in 04 & 05. The spectator points are pathetic. They have like 2 spots on about 3 stages AND THATS IT! So you get a heap of peeps going to the same spot and it gets crowded. You then see a whole 10 seconds (literally) of each rally car as it zooms past *yawn*
The special stage at the winery is ok, but even then u are way to far away from the action to see anything worth while.

I just went upto the service park (only 30 min from my place) and it was pretty empty, must have missed them.
The only good thing I saw where these

              No VW's of any kind.....

Insane power! I've been in a ute with 370rwkw and the power is huge!!! Its just amazing to be in it when it accelerates...

Made me cry after I got back into my car fixed by driving the daily for a few days though

Sorry, won't be joining you – going on the VWCV cruise to Eildon. Just got my beetle back from the crash repairer. Now, it won't take the water-cooled brigade too long to drive up there will it? Why stop at Maroondah Lake, when the Black Spur and then Eildon is only up the road.
                          Have fun.

                          Paul

I think we planned to drive up the black spur and then marysville? Eildon is not far from it, I guess we'll see what happens on the day
