      I was actually using manual focus with Live View magnified 10x and still couldn't get focussed shots! But thanks anyway

          Did you have a tripod? I'd say you have a low shutter speed (being night and all) so a tripod and remote (or timer mode) will get rid of shake and blur...

          If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

              Not if you use Liveview, I think you have to use your eye through the lens to see for something like this.

                Yeah tripod was used - they're all long exposure shots. Background looks great in those pics I think, but the cars were out of focus.
