  • NSW [SYD] Kiama Blow Hole - November 9

    As per the schedule Here

    This one is listed in the ClubVW newsletter so it looks like we will have some aircooled company this time round.

    Meet at Liverpool Krispe Kreme @ 10:00am to leave by 10:30am

    Cruise down the Freeway to the Picton Road;
    Follow that through to Mt Ousley, onto the Southern Freeway to Albion Park;

    At this point it becomes a choose your own adventure.

    For the slower vehicles or less inclined:
    Plan A: Continue straight through to Kiama and the blow hole.

    For those up for a single lane fang up and down the mountain:
    Plan B: Up Macquarie Pass to The Famous Robertson Pie shop for a kick arse selection of pies, then down Jambaroo Mountain, through Jamberoo itself and onto Kiama.

    It's about 1:45 to Kiama if your drive straight or about the same to Robertson then 34 minutes to Kiama + a stop at the pie shop

    Either way we end up at the blow hole for lunch, there is plenty of cafe's, ice cream shops or the fish and chip place for those that wish to partake.

    Come along and admire both the watercooled vehicles and their aircooled brothers. Come one come all and bring the family

    25/09/2008 Update!
    Here is the flyer that will be appearing in the next Club VW newletter/magazine: http://www.mooshen.com/vwwc/2008.11.09.Blowhole.pdf

    13/10/2008 Update!
    As this is a joint event run with Club VeeDub, we now has public liability insurance through CVD's CAMS affiliation, something I hope we don't need, but still something nice to have

    29/10/2008 Update!
    I received the paperwork confirming the CAMS cover for the event today. Only a a week and a bit to go.

    If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

              Wouldn't it be better if the Royal National Park was included?

                Only four weeks to go so put this one in your diary, lets show the aircooled boys how we do things and see if they can keep up

                It is! From Albion Park you can either head straight down to Kiama or take a right and head up the Illawarra Highway through Macquarie Pass to Robertson then back down Jamaroo Mountain Road and onto Kiama.

                ...or am I missing another road I should know about

                  I think he's referring to the Sutherland-to-Wollongong run, as opposed to going through Campbelltown! An easier run for those living towards the city area or the east - could meet up "half-way" at Mt Ousley or just at the Pie Shop.

                      Yeah, the Royal National Park starts at Farnell Avenue, off Princess Highway in Loftus and ends up in Bulli (where Lawrence Hargrave Drive meets up with Princess Highway again). Basically meets with the Bulli Pass (turn right), or goes into Wollongong (turn left). From there you can jump on the freeway and go straight to Kiama...

                      IMO that's the way to go... and getting there from Liverpool KK is easy (straight down Heathcote Road, left onto Princess Hwy, right onto Farnell Avenue).

                        Is this still going?

                        I'd like to tag along but it seems a bit dusty in here...

                          Definately still on, advertised in the Club VeeDub newsletter and all so we should have a few aircoolers along for the ride

                          The more the merrier really!!

                          If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

                              Don't know if I can make this anymore. Coilovers haven't arrived yet, but if they come today or tomorrow, there's still a chance...
