  • hey mate, read the post (rayray's from memory) about 3 above...thats the essentials for you Sydney folk...

Putty road up to Morpeth, about 20 mins from Newcxastle, 5 from Maitland. North side.

Heritage sites, country drive, pubs, cafes etc...nice little country town.

My pick would be the pub next to the bridge on the main street, there are quite a few possibilites.

That said, have no idea what Neil has planned as far as location to meet and organising food.

If we get our own feed cool.
If we set up on the river bank and use the BBQ and give Neil $5 for supplying/organising sweet.
Or perhaps the oval on the other side of town. Plenty of space to park plenty of cars as it's not an overly large town population < 1500 i think
    Up to him i suspect.

    Hope that helps.

We'll be meeting @ Parramatta Park ( http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&s...04828&t=h&z=18 ) around 10am. Heading out at 10:30am through Windsor Rd and Putty Rd to Morpeth ( http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&s...471924&t=h&z=9 ). There should be BBQ facilities there - what we've usually done before is bring our own food. I usually bring enough to share a bit around. I've never been to Morpeth before so don't know if there will be any fish'n'chips/take-away shops there.

I don't know when we'll get to Morpeth? According to GoogleMaps, should take close to 4 hours... so yeah, 2:30pm?

Edit: Haha thanks schoona. Hey, if you want you can PM me your mobile and I can chuck you an SMS when we get off Putty Road?

ill double check tomorrow, but pretty sure there are BBQ's on the river bank if that suits some people. And if the pub/cafe/ take-away shop gets the vote there are a few along the street anywya.
Even so its only a 5 minute drive to maitland where there will be plenty on.

JUST A FOOT NOTE. IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I HAVE BEEN ALONG BROKE ROAD. IT IS A GOOD DRIVE, THROUGH CUTTINGS/FORESTS ETC AND THROUGH ALL THE WINERIES. I AM NOT SURE OF ROAD CONDITION, SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!

do YOU see an end in sight? think of the time it's taken so far, and apply that logic to the future. You'll see

2 bolts, 1 hose, one clutch cylinder. BIG DEAL.

remember 2 weeks ago it was, remove all the covers/manifolds from the engine, remove all the ancilaries/wiring/hoses, remove gearbox, remove clutch/flywheel, remove timing chain covers, remove old timing chains, install new timing chains, install timing chain covers, install clutch/flywheel, install gearbox, plug everything back in, hoses, wires, sensors, install covers/manifolds.

Haha dude, seriously hoping so! and don't worry; point definitely taken.

New point: 5 days with nowhere near that much progress means car is no closer to being done. Can't change that fact

You just have to make a right turn onto Cumberland Hwy/Orange Grove Rd/Highway #7 (I don't know what road name they use at that intersection) and it's just a 1 minute dawdle to the right-hand turn entrance.

Sounds like an idea! Like i said i really don't know that part of sydney all that well.. I've been there like once. I'll get onto my mate, then work out where it is and evaluate the situation but it sounds like meeting up with you is a good idea! Thanks man.
