Wife's A160 is 11 years old battery still going strong starts first crank. Passat is up to six years so far and still ok.

Have you done anything to keep it alive 11 years? Is the car used like a daily.
The yellow top Optima in my XR8 is over 11 years now but has not been a daily for a long time and lives ina Ctek charger.
