Yes, I agree that I'm asking a lot. However, in my relisted ad, I have invited VW GTI enthusiasts to make me an offer for my consideration. I'm really keen for these plates to be proudly displayed by their new owner.

As cool as the plates might be, that is just ridicules price to even think of starting at.

I think majority of the parties that may even consider these plates would only be willing to offer $1k - 2K for them.

Thank you all for your honest but constructive feedback. I apologise for the over-the-top asking price. I never really expected anybody to pay this amount, but I thought it was an acceptable starting point to negotiate from. In my next and possibly final listing, I will lower the price substantially.

For the information of non-Victorian forum members, Euro Premium number plates purchased from VicRoads cost $895, with no annual fees for displaying them on a registered vehicle or placing them on retention, which I have done.

Thanks for your feedback Tob35. As this is your second post in this thread, I presume you are genuinely interested in this topic or are annoyed that I'm still asking a premium amount for a premium item. I have lowered my price substantially by 50%, but clearly this is not enough for some, and I apologise to anyone sharing this opinion. In my previous post on 3^rd April, I mentioned what it costs to purchase these types of number plates from VicRoads. What I paid is not relevant. What is relevant is that anyone who is genuinely interested in purchasing this item can contact me.

I am genuinely interested. But I'm not about to hand over the kind of money you think you should be demanding for these plates.

They are just not that special nor are they for a vehicle that people would fork out the big bucks to have matching plates for.

It's a VW GTI. No one has paid more than 50k for one. Why would they want plates that cost them anothr 20%.

The kind of person who has the means to and would pay the big buccks for these plates isn't driving a golf.

Good luck with the sale though.

When these haven't sold in the next 6 months and you are happy to just recover costs from this plate gamble... Send me a pm. I'll make you an offer then.
