I'm starting to believe there are more than 52 of these in Australia
erm no, I was referring to the 16V ABF models (cupra ) 54 actually
I can tell you now there was easily over 100 of them , with over 400 gti models including the Cupra from 1994-1999 , I dont care what anyone says since I actually worked at a Seat Dealership at the time and was there when they launched the Cupra in early 1998 and was still there when Seat pulled out on Dec 31 1999 !

Cool, in what capacity were you at a seat dealership? were you privy to Seat's national sales figures in your role there? certainly feels like its more than 54 lol I think I got 52 from the previous owner, he told me Matt from Camden could tell where most of the cupras that were sold here currently reside

Was the only difference between the GTi and Cupra the presence of the 16v? Oh, and the 16's. Were there any other discerning features?
That super clean white Cupra on carsales has GTi badges (even on the seats) but that might be totally normal, I don't know them well enough (or at all.)
