Sold to a friend of mine .... pointed him at at. First VW for him, talked him out of buying an old Alfa GTV6 2.5. Picked it up yesterday and loving it apparently.

It does need a bit of attention, with a clutch replacement required soon i believe.

It was thought the clutch neded changing as it sat a little higher but Clutch is absolutely fine, sweet in fact! It was looked at by JMAC who said that the different years he's serviced can vary. Needs a CV changed which was included. Awesome buy, not many MK2's out there in that condition!

I loved the mk2 i had but my no.1 hate was the clutch pedal; it was soft, the travel was too long...just didnt go with the rest of the car...are all mk2 clutches like this??

Apparently it can vary between vehicles and production years, it is a little quirk the MK2's have. Have found it's something you get used to with the older Golfs, then again, I find the clutches pretty smooth compared to my old air-cooled toys.
