Assuming you're after the shorter shift provided by the TT part over the stock part?? From what I understand they come from a MQ250 gearbox??
If I'm right you could consider the Diesel Geek part too, which is brilliant (I've used their short shifters in my Mk3 and Mk6 now).

Yes, trying to shorten the throw on a budget (like $20). Dieselgeek would be nice but beyond what i want to spend.
Maybe you are right - the partnos are all over the shop. Basically I'm after the short shifter off an early TT
Looks like this - of course, you look closely and the partno is 8J0 711 051D and it says MQ250
