Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've got one.. But it has been modified to take a different plug as I was going to go to a custom Bosch high-energy ignition on my 1.7 years ago (never finished it). Dizzy works, though.

So do you want points or electronic version, Vacuum advance or vacuum advance and retard ??

Luke, what K jet parts you wanting ?? currently have some NOS KR injection parts on order.
        Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

        Cheers,

i dunno, it was running digifant innjection and im converting it to bike carbs, i could just srtip down the loom and run my current dizzy but id prefer one that runs of vac, just to keep wiring to a minumum, some one on ed38 said get one of a 1.8 k-jet and plug it into vac for advance/retard so im just going with that... maybe one of you guys on here can give me a bit better info on what i need, im pretty mechanically minded and doing all this work myself but i get a bit lost with the technical nitty gritty of it all
          thanks guys,
          tom

PS- MY CARS A DIGIFANT 2, NOT A K-JET FOR ANY ONE CHASING FUEL INJECTION PARTS

If you have the digifant ECU run that with the carbs??? Or did you want to recurve it too?

Is there not a vac line to the ECU, it's been a while so I can't remember. If there is, it will have advance in there. No need for the mechanical dissy.

Recurve mean to change the advance curve of the dissy to better suit the needs of the engine. Change of bob weights etc to alter the advance curve.
