EOI: Bluetooth Group buy for RNS/RCD 510

OK, the unit has all cables, mic etc. etc....what about aerial? does it need one? use the antenna? Where can I get it fitted or is it easy enough to DIY? If I can get an indication of all this...then I'm in baby

Don't know about the areial but it is just the plug and play unit from VW anyway, so it's probably in the module under the seat I would guess, or linked in with the Mic wires maybe....

If that is what the genuine VW unit does, then yes.

Let me reiterate for everyone, this is THE FACTORY VW BLUETOOTH MODULE FOR RCD/RNS 510 so whatever the factory, $800 unit does, this is exactly the same. Not trying o sound rude or anything, because I have no real idea about bluetooth, all I know is that if you're after a self-install factory bluetooth setup, like what you would get if you optioned it from the dealer, this is it.

I need to know exact numbers by monday next week, as I already said, so I can confirm with the seller by Tuesday. I will be away over the easter break so I will not be able to do the purchase until April 28th at the earliest.

In regards to the pricing and the AUD vs USD, what you will have to do is transfer an estimated value base on whatever the USD is doing. if for example you all give me $300, and the purchase turns out to be $290, I can do 1 of 2 things:

1)Transfer back your money, then you can pay for postage seperately
2) Use the leftover money to post out the units, then whatever is left over can be equally distributed amongst all of us.

This is kind of like that situation when you go out to dinner in a group and there is always that 1 person who doesn't want to just divide the cost equally because they only got the ceaser salad, where as he got the eye fillet steak....

Let me know guys, as of tuesday I will confirm with the seller the numbers, then I will PM you all with my account details for you to deposit the funds between then and the 28th. As of this wednesday, I'll be away for a week camping and I doubt I will be able to use the net camping up on the Murray!

I am not fussed about the exchange rate or the exact price, if there's money left over you deserve it for all your trouble to pull this together. My main concern is to make sure you're not out of pocket. Given we'll do the installation together don't worry about posting to me. We can get together once we both have our cars and install them both on the same day - how does this sound? Perhaps we can do the brakes on the same day?

Thanks again for sniffing this out. It's a great deal. Somehow I have the feeling this won't be the last group purchase we do.

If you know how much each will weigh, then probably easier to work out delivery costs up front. Express Post bags are probably a decent way to go - just bubble wrap a bit and ship them. (Australia Post Shop - Express Post)

Then we know what'll cost and your life is easier.

Happy to just pay once up front so you're not left out of pocket.

That'd be great. Friend of mine has a VAGCOM (he has an Audi A5) so reprogramming should be fine.
