  • NSW Canon EF mount lenses

    Hey all,

I've got two standard zoom lens I'd like to try and sell. I'm keeping the one that doesn't get sold.

    Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8

This Tokina is a sharp lens with a more extreme wide-angle than most standard zooms. Its constant f/2.8 makes it an ideal lens to use indoors too, and have found it's very easy to take good photos at restaurants and parties.

It was imported in from the US, and it includes a genuine Tokina lens hood that I bought separately. Has had a filter always, but if sold, it will come WITHOUT a filter (keeping for another lens, sorry). Unfortunately I've misplaced the receipt and packaging, but if found they will be included with the sale. Review can be found here, and sample pics I've taken with the lens. New from DCW costs $1219.

    Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5

The 17-70mm is longer than the standard zoom kit lens and also wider, at the same time being faster too. Quality of photos are much better than the standard kit lens too - there are many examples on Flickr. In addition, its macro abilities (only 22cm minimum focusing distance, with a magnification ratio of 1:2.7) make this lens one of the most versatile in the market. It accepts 72mm filters. Note that this is the older model, it does not have OS (Optic Stabilizer, Sigma's version of Canon's IS) nor HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor, Sigma's version of Canon's USM). That said, it focuses quickly and relatively quiet.

I haven't used the 17-70mm much as I sold my camera soon after buying it (second-hand from eBay). It had been in my to-buy list for a long time though, and in the one or two times I've used it, it's only confirmed what I've read in positive reviews. Focus ring is very easy to turn (not loose), and the lens is resistant to zoom creep. The lens is perfect aesthetically and mechanically, seriously no marks on the body, or glasses. The lens comes with its original box and packaging, genuine Sigma hood, front and rear caps, but no filters.

No pictures as I've sold my camera. The lens is seriously flawless, except for some finger smudges on the front glass - easily wiped off with a good cloth and lens cleaner solution. I'm an honest seller and have sold many things on this forum as well as other forums and on eBay under the same nickname.

I'm only selling one as at the moment, I've got no use for two similar lens. I really like both of them equally, so I'll keep the one that doesn't sell.

    Prices
    Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 - $650
    Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 - $400

Nah mate, hardly experienced enough to spend big dollars on a full frame! 550D and its HD video function has my interest peaked

        so so very tempted...

That 50mm prime looks very nice, hell the Tamron wouldn't go astray either...

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Not too much interest unfortunately, but have been told that some of the prices on the lenses are a bit high. I'll relent - price drop; weekend bump.

Funny that, fines were my problem too when I tried to buy this! It was a good thing for me though, as the price fell down when I bought it!

I'm not exactly sure what prices you want for these as you only put DWI prices up unless I am blind?

Sorry I only just saw your reply. Prices I'm after for the lenses have been listed at the end of the original post since I've posted them up.

Lowered prices. Need the cash for the body upgrade.

You can see it in the last photo in the original post - it seems as if one of the glasses inside has some webbing. It looks to be the size of a pinky fingernail. I've taken quite a few pics using the 50mm and the fault doesn't seem to be picked up in the pictures, but I haven't done any extensive testing.
