  • NSW OMFG - Number plate

Hey, I've had this number plate for a couple of years now but it doesn't quite go with my new car. You may have even seen me around Sydney with it. It's just on hold for me at the RTA at the moment.

I've been told to take it to a car auction place where'd I'd get 15k for it (I highly doubt that. I'd rather save the embarrassment and money). Also, when I went to trade the Golf in, the salesman said that the number plate was worth more than the car! He said it'd go for at least 10k.

So, I have no idea what it's worth. I'm hoping to sell it and use the money to restore a Mk1 Golf. The amount of attention this number plate grabs is crazy. Make an offer

I think the people who would appreciate that kind of plate wouldn't have the money to spend big on it, so I say keep it!

if you wanna get a valuation of the plate contact Shannons... they auction plates all the time, although most are the historic early numbered plates etc... but at least they might be able to give you a guide as to its possible value.

At the end of the day if you can get $15k through auction I would be putting it up and financing a new car. Lets face it, you can't drive a number plate.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Thanks for that. I didn't know I'll probably give them a call.
